Don’t get yourself distracted by any rainbows or you could end up wearing one of the gowns

So today, got working on jobs on the Sprint bar risers on, shorty levers back on. Clutch cable adjusted. Chain lubed. Oil checked. Givi pannier racks on ready for a trip when we finally can go to places that are open. Out for a quick pootle with a mate later.

Been a long time coming but today I actually managed to get out on the bike for the first time since September last year. It felt so good!:grinning: The clutch needed freeing off strangely enough - just like Meriden Triumphs of yesteryear. Bloody thing! No kickstart to free it off with so it was into gear and rock it back and forth with the clutch held in until it freed itself. Didn't want to try to engage gear again with the engine running. I suppose it's getting old and grumpy, just like me:eek:, but after that the clutch was smooth and the gearchange slick and easy. The engine was smooth, powerful and eager - as it should be! The tyres gripped grippily, the suspension suspended and the brakes braked beautifully. The sun shone and the temperature was just about right. 60 miles and about an hour and a half of motorcycling bliss using roads that I know well whilst I get myself back in the groove again. Magic!:grinning::grinning::grinning:
    Now for an advert .....
Thanks to Paul Johnson at PJ's Motorcycle Services at Thorne near Doncaster www.pjmotorcycleservices.co.uk for the service he did on the bike for me which was thorough and excellent value for money. The bike runs like new. He picked it up from our old address, took it to his workshop and delivered it to our new address after servicing when we were sorted enough to have room to tuck it away! Very obliging, fair and an excellent mechanic:cool:. Not the first time that he's serviced my bikes and it wont be the last - I hope!
Worryingly, when I got off the bike after my ride, my back was as stiff as a stiff thing and my legs weren't much better:worried:. Probably just out of practice but old(ish) age and two crushed vertebra are unlikely to be helping. Ah well, I'll just have to keep going as best I can for as long as I can. Sod 'em!!:p

Known to us as the frightening, two humungous engines and just a handful of dials they went like shit off a shovel and drank fuel like it was going out of fashion proper aircraft.
