    Sweden remains interesting.

Their academic modellers projected a need for anything between 5,000 and 10,000 ICU beds. It never exceeded 600 and is about 450 today. Our ‘science’ has been as much statisticians, and behavioural psychologists as physicians with a handle on public health. All of the models (just like economic projections) fall apart if the assumptions on which they are based are wrong..... and we are learning this virus behaves in unsuspected ways. Rubbish in, rubbish out?

Neil Fergusons's now highly criticised model is to blame, and he's a physicist not a virologist.

    which fact?
    here is some criticism https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/six-questions-that-neil-ferguson-should-be-asked

and here is his education -
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Ferguson_(epidemiologist)#Early_life_and_education

He received his Master of Arts degree in Physics in 1990 at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in theoretical physics in 1994 at Linacre College, Oxford.[4][5] His doctoral research investigated interpolations from crystalline to dynamically triangulated random surfaces and was supervised by John Wheater.[1][2][6]

He's a mathematical modeller, I work with them, only they actually call themselves Bioinformaticians, they work with genetic data, none would dare call themselves a geneticist as they know nothing about life science other than the maths, the scientists interpret the results the models provide, not the bioinformaticians. Neil Ferguson can call himself what the fuck he likes, but he is an academic modeller not a virologist. Which is why he is perhaps so wrong historically, by huge margins. Read the spectator link.

They are the same type of experts who told us that Aids would kill millions in Europe, same with Swine Flu, BSE SAR's etc. and all of those were way way off the mark, so why should we listen to them now?

Neil Ferguson was behind the dire predictions for Bird Flu, Swine Flu, BSE, Foot & Mouth. He was wrong every time, yet the lockdown is influenced by his prediction for covid-19
