This meme makes no sense. Churchill wasn't in charge of the government before the war, and repeatedly warned about lack of preparedness. He could not have been blamed for shortages. However, with austerity, the Tories have been cutting public spending, including the NHS, with Johnson's enthusiastic support, for the last 10 years. The current shortages are entirely down to them.

I am watching this incredible stupidity on TV. "Re-starting the economy". Virus, what virus ? ALL BETTER NOW ? Forget what we said for the last 2 months. It is ALL about money and the forthcoming elections. Los Angeles's mayor is telling everyone to spend money. "Don't forget the small businesses" says he. No worries about our health. Just feed the economy. The ultimate rebellion ? Don't spend money I am up for that one. Let me see how cheaply the wife and I can live. Sounds like a fun challenge. I've got plenty of the stuff. Hi Sandi, she is still in ICU but much better thank you. Her haemoglobin levels was extremely low when she arrived at causality, the doctor reckoned she arrived just in time.They did a scope and found she has a hole in her stomach which is what causes the blood loss. The pain on the lung is caused by a blood clot. We’ve not been able to visit due to the covid crisis but fortunate that we could speak to the doctor telephonically. I was told yesterday afternoon that a heart specialist must see her today as well so there might be more underlying problems, that or it’s simply precautionary measures. Thank you for your concern
Churchill didn't become Prime Minister until May 1940 and was excluded from the Conservative Government after it's election victory in1931. He repeatedly lobbied to increase the size of the RAF but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Had the appalling Beth Rigby been reporting at the time she would no doubt have ignored this fact, judging by her current performance at the daily press briefings!
