Seeking opinion… As some of you will know, as well as being a nasty Guardian reading, Pinko Snowflake, I also like to cycle. I am managing to get out for a few rides over the weekends but was thinking... I’m still working at the moment and I have about 65mile round trip for my commute. On Fridays we just work for the morning, 8-12 I was thinking I might drive part way, park the car and cycle along the cycle path for the last 15 miles, and then back again at the end of the day. Gets some exercise in and makes the most of my short day. Is this ok?
I used to do that when I worked in West London, in my case I drove to the place where the traffic queued badly then cycled the last bit. Seems within the rules, but runs the risk of being called out/bothered by locals near your parking spot as travelling for exercise. I suppose it depends if you care about that. Is the parking spot near houses?
You are going to work because you can't work at home. Nowhere does it say you cannot combine different transport options to get there so fill your boots (well cycling shoes). No different to driving to a train station to catch a train.
