Just fitted a SmartMoto Evap delete kit to my 2017 speedy. EML light now on.
Kit fitted was a PE-023 this maybe for the RS & they are checking but has anyone else done this? Poss suggest any mistakes I may have made?? ‍♂️

Straight forward job really it seems. Just wanted to check the throttle body lay out. Centre & offside(rh when on bike) have the Evap input on the same side then the near side (lh) is mirrored.

Can’t see what it could be apart from the resistor they sent isn’t applicable for the 16/17 R. Although I checked before ordering. ‍♂️ They are now re-checking, possible listing issue.

    cheers guys

    Cheers for the response.

I saw this & but checked with SmartMoto & they said yes correct kit. Thought I’d be ok as you’d think they would know. But they are now rechecking poss not correct.

it was just something I thought I’d entertain myself with but now I’ll be stressing about it :(

    haha
You’ll be fine then chief. If you need any help fitting just shout The plug supplied doesn’t replace the one that goes into the valve there is another one about 15cm further up the harness it replaces

How did you get on with the evap removal?

All sorted this end. EML deleted & breather hose now neatly routed.

Looking just like I want it!
Mines not here yet but due in today.
Did you have to remove air box to get better access at all?

Just have to tweak a couple of wiring routes & hoses to make it tidy as obviously not designed to be visual. Not sure if I mentioned but you will also need 1mtr of 8mm internal bore fuel/breather hose, non external braiding would be easier & look more factory. (Can send eBay link for the one I used if you like.

I didn’t remove the air box, no real need. You will need to strap the tank back further than the stay does to help access but be careful with fuel level if high as could find its way out the breather/overflow.

The hardest part is removing the two torx bolts that mount the bracket holding the canister. This is due to the amount of loctite triumph lock to use & access is a little limited but do-able.

I routed my breather from the expansion tank area down to the front of the front sprocket channel to keep clean but had to modify the harness cover a small amount.

if you need anything just shout :)

Thanks for the very good write up and the heads up about the fuel hose.
If you would be kind enough for the ebay item you got, i may as well get that as tbh, it looks way better (imo) not having it in and you’ve done good!
    Sweet job sir and Thanks!

No issue at all. Just thought I’d jot down a few, hopefully helpful, notes. I ordered a 1mtr of hose which left me with about 15-20cm length so if you feel it’s a little close to call cost wise better to order the 2mtr now.

    Ebay item no :130740225601

Look forward to seeing the results :)

    Hiya!
Just looking at the eBay site mentioned and there isn’t a 8mm internal bore pipe?
Too big is obviously better but is that the one please?

Got the kit and just waiting on the fuel hose!
    Just a quick q if I may?
The kit only has a connector and 3 small caps for the throttle bodies. Is this right?
Only reason I ask is that i'm taking off a lot of pipes that have to go somewhere and i've only been sent 3 caps?
If i'm missing something, i won't start the job.
Also, is your canister the same as the rs as it doesn't look the same as the instructions either....?!
    Thanks for help joe!

    Evening
Correct you get 3 blanks & one resistor connector. The three blanks fit on to the throttle bodies, 1 for each, replacing the small hoses that track back to the purge valve/solenoid.

if I were you I would remove the canister first, this will give you a lot more space to track the hoses.

The small hoses your are looking to replace with the blanks are on the RH on the RH & centre throttle bodies & LH of the LH throttle body (if sat on the bike). The other set of small hoses will track to the LH of the air box.

it’s a simple job just take you time. Shout if needed

PS....the instructions are pretty pointless. Attached image is of your set up.

    Hi there,
Right, kit done (except fuel hose as I’m still waiting) but when I start it up, I get an engine warning error. bike works fine and you can reset it but it’s there next time again.
how did you resolve your errors?

if I’m honest without seeing what you have done I can’t really help. I had a error due to the incorrect plug kit being supplied. But resolved once fitted correct plug & cleared using DealerTool. Once cleared never returned.

Can you talk me through what you’ve done? Did you cycle ignition prior to fitting the plug? Tank up? Talk me through the set up
