Hi new to this forum, don't have a running bike at the moment, in the process of trying to restore a 140V.

Welcome from Iowa, USA. Are you referring to timing and not bearing alignment? The bearings fit in the case housing and I am not aware of alignment. Timing, on the other hand, is very important and particular.

Basically its a case of line boring them once they have been pressed in with the cases bolted up and crank installed however i have renewed plenty without doing that as coupled with minor misalignment when bolting up the cases which are usually taken care of by the crankshaft and cams and the fact that most replacement bearings are supplied to size these days you can usually get away without...welcome to the best bike forum on the net.:)

Thank for the info, I had assumed that a tool was required, as all I see on youtube show a tool being used, which I have been unable to find on any web site.

I use a factory line reamer after pressing in the four bushes i use a stainless steel ball bearing to size the timing side and the then ream the primary side with the cases bolted together.
