Grand meet-up in 2016.

I was just thinking how great it would feel if we could have a big get-together where as many as possible of the membership come together and have a really great time.

So with this in mind it seemed like a good idea to start to sound what format is possible for peeps taking into account their various family and work situations.

So I'm going to throw out a few ideas:

1. Just a forum members get-together,or a forum get-together at another event where there might be facilities such as beer/food/bands?

2. Just a day or for the week-end camping?

3. One for the UK or 1 in the north and another in the south?

4. May?June, July (my birthday) August etc?

I think it should be one for all as if it's area ones we'll never fully meet the people we really want to (or not)

Find out the furthest members away at three points who are interested and calculate where the centre would be.
Is that a good plan?

 

To be honest Steve I'd not considered anywhere but within the UK, but if there was enough interest we could always do it in France - just a long trek for those in the North and Scotland?

My only concern is selecting somewhere where we can get together as many members as possible and have a good time.

PS Steve, good luck with the Tiger loan - I think you'll need it

 

Sounds like a plan. If not too far south, I would try to be there. Quite like the idea of middle distance between furthest spread members.

So that brings me onto the next stage which we'll have to keep open for a short while before calculating.
Home town and country locations- Estimated furthest person away to note on here.

OK, so the idea of working out the centre point between all attendees would seem to establish the location?

I think we would probably need to leave out my location, as part of the 'centre' calculation.

Once we know the peeps involved and their respective locations, the location can be calculated and proposed.

What do we think of Dozer's Dad's suggestion of meeting up at a bike rally? It would have beer,music and food?

How about a weekend meet at a pub,perhaps one with a campsite that would keep the cost down for some and provide facilities for those who don't camp(me) Have done a few like this and they're normally pretty good.

How about Deryshire/Leicestershire as these are pretty central.
14th to 23rd of June is out for me as we'll be in the Picos.

Hi fellas my tuppence worth is north of Birmingham, nice area like the Peak District, so that's central and picturesque so you can have a good ride out when sobered up, also start another thread for yeses locations and preferred dates with nothing else posted on it, no chat no jokes no abuse! Looks like roadrider could keep that updated and carry on as he is doing. I will say yes, SW london and I will try and fit in with whatever date as my work schedule is heavy during the sumner
