Thanks to all who posted messages of support, you are The Best !!!!

Starting to get around now, albeit slowly but I'm not expecting any ride until after Christmas. Need to order some new hand guards (56€) but at least they did their job well.

Hi SD and thanks for the message of support. Am getting around better today but yesterday was still a bit rough and in addition got a bout of Montezuma's revenge: upstairs, downstairs, time and time again - deep f***ing joy !!!

But tonight is good - the Christmas booze box is open and I'll be pain-free VERY soon.

Happy Christmas to all forum members :):):):):D:Do_O

Gettin' soaked through helping to pick up a Bonnie plus rider from the roadside this morning while out with herself and our dog.
Spilled diesel + an inch or two of rain = 'KIN OUCH.
The bikes more or less OK, busted mirror, scratches and scrapes but the rider was a bit bent in places but nowt that a few band aids and a plaster cast can't cure and, at least he has a warm dry bed for a week or so.
Big thanks to the Feds who pitched up literally just seconds after he came off, a pair of spot on chaps who even called round to let me know he was ok. Not all Feds are 'kin tossers.

My Speedie is alive and throbbing once more. The replacement T1292370 igniter arrived from Fowlers on Crimbo Eve but due to the festivities I couldn't get round to fitting it or else I would have had deaf 'nd dumb breakfasts till Easter. Anyhow, batter fully charged, fit new ignite, plug everything in, fit battery, switch on. Tacho stayed on zero, fuel on, bit of choke, switch on, press button, two turns and BRUM BRUM, Oh Happy Day!!!!!. I've put a bit in the Technical forum if any ones interested and will post a copy of the connection map sometime this week in case anyone interested. All I need now is something like sensible weather and I'll be back in the zone.

Great news Sceptic Al, well done and hope the weather was ok for you to get out today. I took the Sprint out for a quick spin, she started easily first time ( always a good sign, lol) and ran a dream. I put some petrol magic in the tank at the garage and in my deluded mind it always makes the bike run smoother when it has warmed up and run through the carbs.
Not the biggest run ever, just 60 miles but great fun . Out towards Warwick then down the A46 towards Stratford then back along the good old A34, M42 and A45 to home. Back to my garage, quick check over and all seems well, then cover her over and put her to bed till next playtime. Hey I guess that will be next year now. Happy New Year everyone, yes even Harley riders, lol. Jeez one of em actually nodded to me today, now that is a first.

Well, I am pretty much lucky to be here.
23rd Dec on the way home on my last day in the office this year and I get knocked off my bike at 50mph.
A car is undecided between lane 1 & 2, I am behind the van in lane 2. The car suddenly swerves into lane 2 as the van was starting to pass, the brakes come on and the van swerves over the line for lane 2 & 3 where I was about to filter pass.

I brake but hit the back of the van, and slide down on my offside, I role with the slide to avoid being hit by the car I know was behind in lane 3 and come to a stop, after a couple of four letter words and hitting my fists on the road I get up and pick up my bike. (The van drove on, probably didn't even realise what had happened) The ignition cut out works well and I walk my bike to the road side with the clutch in. The lady driver of the car behind me got out to ask if I was okay, I waved thanks as I felt absolutely no paid or aches.

The handlebar mirrors were loose, the brake pedal was bent in, the clutch cover was scratched and the front wheel was now slightly out of alignment with the handlebars. I was able to cautiously ride her home.
Over all I am very lucky there was no serious or expensive damage.

I will get the bike up on the Abba stand and take a closer look at the suspension and loosen the clamp bolts to realign the front. I have new Brambo pads and caliper seals on order to fully service the front brakes, plus spark plugs and oil for the engine. Plus some crash sliders from ebay (bit late o_O)

That night, I have aching legs and realise there is a small graze on my elbow, a couple of days later and I am fine.
My Triumph leather jacket has a graze on the elbow the size of a 50p coin and the cheap waterproof trousers from Amazon have a small scrape on the knee where the knee armour is.

I will look at getting the video up in time, but as I have not told any of my family and they subscribe to my channel it could be awkward!

Ho hum...my first road collision incident in 23 years since I started riding. But no-one particular at fault other than the car swerving between lanes.

Hard luck Red, but as you say could have been a lot worse. Glad there's no more than a few scratches on yourself and cheapish fixes to the bike.
