I have never drilled so many holes in my life Used loads of nails Got my angle grinder out and dismantled a cantilever tool box so I could make storage trays out of it These are going on the wall as well to take heavier tools Trying to put everything I can mounted on the walls so I can have maximum floor space for working on my bike Broke my DAB radio on Monday New one comes tomorrow
Drilling the brickwork has got my already knackered shoulders in Feckin agony Hopefully it’ll be all done in the next couple of days and I can get back to something for CERBERUS part two and have a play about with my new welder
Not a good idea if you’re going to be putting any weight on the shelves/brackets. Much stronger and more secure into brick. Mortar is often too sandy because a lot of brickies are tight, and sand is cheaper than cement.
Agreed, if the fastner is in tension. If it's to support just the back of the shelf it's in shear and it won't matter much.
Grrrrrr Most people have one....a big bin or something full of nuts/bolts/screws/nails etc Well I thought I’d try and sort it out I tipped it over the bench and started Feckin hell about 4hrs of my life I’ll never get back But it’s all done now All separated and in different bins Don’t care how much I get done tomorrow I’m gonna get pissed tomorrow night and Sunday is a duvet day
Bought this bin $30 at a secondhand store, came with all the drawers. From the drawer labels it must came from a typewriter repair business. It was setting outside so I spotted it as I drove by.
Hopefully it’ll never get this bad again Worst thing was never having a set place for anything That’s what this is all about and although I’m far from finished it’s already working Instead of looking for somewhere to put something the tools that I’m using at the moment already have a place so that when I’ve finished they go where they’re supposed to be When I need them again I know exactly where to look instead of raking around and getting pissed off
Been there done that marra - As you say marra feckin sole destroying, I had a drink afterwards too but strange thing was I had to have 4 cans of lager and four cans of cider in front of me, I found i had to move them and swap them about a while before I was ready to sup them.
Just a thought @dilligaf if its possible at all think twice before putting a shelf above your bike way to easy to lose grip when putting or taking down. Last week I had the bike down the driveway as had been washing it, went in garage to get the Blower i pressed the remote on the electric garage door while I walked towards it, only to be greeted by an almighty crash 15lt tub of dark oak fence stain unopened until it fell down from the top of a metal shelf at the side of the door, (HOW - GOD KNOWS) The plastic tub broke at the rim lid came off bloody stuff was all over the place !!! driveway blocks covered, front of garage carpet squares covered looked towards the bike thank god it was well out the way big smile inside then looked up to see my neighbours house splashed to hell the bricks and upvc windows, I've never moved so fast to grab the hose and a hard brush thankfully couple of hours later all was good. I needed a drink that night to
I sorted I sorted mine a couple of months ago small medium and large washers bolts and nuts, it's great now.
