Had it in the local shop today to have the forkseals replaced. Much cheaper than the dealer's and a great job done. Happy!

Technically not the bike but if I clean it anymore I’m going to remove the paint. Took some leather cleaner/conditioner to the jacket to remove the current bug collection and removed the winter liner. This Meguiars is supposed to be for auto upholstery but is the dogs danglies for leather jackets. My new favorite saying, did I use it correctly? I’m a colonial, so I’m trying to learn! It removes cooked on bugs quite easily, conditions the leather, and is not greasy like others I’ve tried.

^Actually the auto stuff, if not all natural, could dry it out long term as auto leather is actually painted color with a clear coat on pseudo leather weave like material, as opposed to most garments.

Check this stuff out sometime, all natural beeswax Skidmore's. I use it on everything. Apply, dry and buff. Leaves rich sheen, not greasy.

Changed the stator today. Scary thing was that I found a big piece of grit in the coils that shorted 2 phases. The sump doesn't have any grit in it, so where the heck did it come from? o_O. Stator.jpg

If you want the REAL canine cojones for leather care, try this sometime. :-

    https://www.liquidleather.co.uk/leather-care-c57/conditioners-c85

the conditioner (GT11) should be all you need to restore suppleness, protect the leather AND you get that great "new leather" smell back. For a while at least. It does leave leather soft and supple, though and also helps waterproofing. Not cheap but very good.

When people talk about 'setting standards' I'm always reminded of the .... allegedly true ..... sentence in a performance appraisal I heard about MANY years ago ....

"This man sets himself an extremely low standard, and then consistently fails to meet it."

That's NOT to say that your standards are in any way related to that expression, Duck. You've been extremely brave and have done something I'm not sure I could or would have done! Good on yer.

I had an office day for the first time in a fourtnight (90% in our firm are working from home at present), so took the bike. lovely little ride this morning (it's only ten miles), and back home in glorious sunshine this afternoon.
    Stuck at home again tomorrow.

You hit your goal Dave! If you expect the worst then you’ve achieved your current expectations therefore success! What ever you dwell on you will get. It’s basic mindset.
An ex girlfriend of mine many years ago said to me that she didn’t want a relationship as it always ends in sorrow for her. I saw through that as I’ve a lot of positive energy but she succeeded and won. I left her for nobody and just got peace and she got nothing but anger and frustration and jealousy. That was her program. But a program is exactly that. It can be whatever you choose!

Got bike out today and sat on it for 5 mins in the riding position. Was a bit apprehensive that it may do my head more harm than good, but pleased to say that the happy feelings were much greater than the background melancholy, glad I did it :)

I know it's not really necessary after only 3 weeks, but before before moving bike I marked tyres so I could be sure bike was resting on different part after putting back. Also checked tyre pressures and connected bike to Optimate battery charger. Only took an hour until charged, so that'll mean it was at over 90% before.
