Whether you call them Yanks, Spams, Septic (tanks), Uncle Sam's or whatever other nickname IMHO Americans are general OK chaps/chapess's, well, the one's I've worked with were. Of course, there's always exceptions and the odd total 'hand cranker' amongst them.

    Hi Pete.
Got an email from Carmo Electronics, not very promising by the sounds of it. Loads of 'we might not be able to fix it' blah blah, I don't think they too interested in a fix and only want to flog me a new one and for the price they are asking it'd be more worthwhile getting an original one from my local Triumph stealer so I'll probably get a Fire Start from Triumph Twin Power. ;)

That's a bugger, but you won't mind forking out if it is a cure, everything crossed and good luck, perhaps when both units are off bike you might want to do some electrical measurements and post them on here what is expected on and new one and what the faulty unit readings were, might be very useful info if someone else has a similar fault, keep us posted Al.

Now chaps titter you may but after having tank off to take cam cover off & cams to tighten head bolts to cure leak at head gasket, put all back together plus timing cover on. Push button whirl bang fire then stopped, been in garage found trapped petrol pipe put right push button bang runs a treat. Lesson to be learnt, many thanks happy rides to be had.

I have a starting issue especially when the bike is hot, she turns over fine no battery problems, she just won't fire up, wiggled wires on, off, on, off then after quite a few turnovers she starts up, oh yeah hi all ex rocket 3 owner, needed sumit lighter.

Hi Rocketman, and welcome in :cool:
If you're an ex Rocket 3 owner then you'll need to give people a clue what bike the problem is on ;);)

Bike wasn’t starting and then changed the adjustable clutch lever and it started again -guess it was loose?

There's a switch on the clutch lever so chances are it wasn't activated or it's sticking. That will disable the starting.
