is it still socially acceptable to go out motorcycling for pleasure?
    Your thoughts, please?
    Ken.

I’m going to on Monday with @Smilinjack regardless. You are in a way self isolating in a full face lid

Yes, just don't go to known bike meeting points ;);)

Enjoy the ride, stop somewhere nice and remote, take photos, come home :cool:

Just avoid close contact with others, it’s possible even in a car park but does make you feel a bit like a nervous squirrel. Might be an idea to take plastic gloves with you, like you get at petrol stations.

    Absolutely! :D

There are some saying that you might potentially impose an unnecessary burden on already stretched emergency services. However I would argue that you just take extra care, and there is substantially less traffic on the roads, so it could be safer than usual (but don't be complacent).

Getting out for a ride preserves what is left of my mental health o_O:scream::p

Well even though here in France some are still doing it, there are very clear French government regulations in force against it, due to the virus that is killing at increasing rates. If you are out riding and stopped by gendarmes you will be fined 135€ and there is talk about increasing it exponentially if the population don't comply.

We've been in lock-down for over a week now and it really is shit - all bars and resto's shut permanently - but if it helps then I'm prepared to comply, but for how long I don't know. Did I mention it's shit ??

I'm less bothered about catching it and much more concerned about meteoric propagation - have a look at the latest figures from Italy for example.

Full face isolation helmet and voluntary essential pizza delivery on a triumph will probably get round the system. Unfortunately the pizza will be clap cold on arrival but the rider will have a huge smile from achievement of finding you via the longest way!

The primary contact risk is probably the petrol pump. Keep gloves on or sanitise them AND your hands. You will need to juggle......

At the moment I think it is ok to go for a ride. Just stay away from large gatherings at local bike meets and you should be ok. Unfortunately I reckon the government will force us all of the road shortly, so get out there while you still can.....

It’s killing me having a brand new Rocket 3R in the garage :sob:
But I’m of the opinion that for me it’s not acceptable to go riding it during these difficult times
In the event of a minor spill do you really want to go to hospital with an open wound or broken arm/leg
Already the NHS is struggling with what’s going on :(
People on this very forum involved with the NHS are already doing 16hr shifts 6days a week
Do you want to add to this

Been out on mine a lot since the weather improved, and agree with others, I used gloves to handle the pump and use contactless payment.
A blast through the spring countryside made me feel normal again and the roads are definitely quieter.

I have to agree with the “ not adding to NHS workload”. It’s not stopping the horse riders and Cyclists who continue to carry on like they are immune. I so nearly got taken out by a feck in mountain biker yesterday who was coming down the road I was walking down at 40 mph and had to swerve around me as a car came around the corner . I guess they don’t have to worry about the Petrol pump virus transfer ! So now I might just be a bit reckless and take RS Triple out of the garage and start it up .. That will be when I’ve finished the painting and Her list ...

Please dont expect any kind of green light to enjoy yourself from Dilli. He's locked down and still has Eleven long weeks to go.:rolleyes::mask::mask:
We all know Dilli's a fecking animal and the cage was going to and had to catch the bastard sometime.:eek: well it has :D:D:poop:
Seriously though He makes a very valid point !!! a view to be honest I hadn't thought enough about and it does make perfect sense,:) I still think I will use the bike for the odd journey I need to make (essential) one because its quicker but more so because at times its very enjoyable and does give you a sense of freedom even when your NOT.o_Oo_O

ps- But went officially told to stop - I will

See my post in the corona virus thread, the French govt. have just voted in major extensions to their powers.
