fuel pump wont prime.........

    My Triple Speed 2003 fell over in the high winds now wont start she turns over know problem but the fuel pump wont prime, thought the tilt switch may be at fault? any ideas would be great?

    Check fuel pump fuses. The tilt switch should have righted itself once you picked the bike up, I think?

    Cheers bike has been up right now for over a week , had battery off charging but when put back on still won't prime

    Right mate, hows it going? soz your troubles dude.
    what are you getting when u try to start her?
    check side stand switch, clutch switch, loose connections:- battery,starter,
    Are you getting instruments, lights, horn ? do you have immobiliser?

    Yes mate checked all the above, the bike turns over know problem, but the fuel pump won't prime

    hydro lock? which side did it fall on was it down for long ? engine management light?

    Well, it turned out to be the clutch safety switch after all. Even after looking at it a few times, the switch had been jarred out of alignment. It was moving freely, and clicking, but I guess the switch was a little out of place. As silly as I feel, Im just glad it wasn't anything more serious. On the bright side, I learned how to change my own spark plugs and I have nice new lightweight shorai battery
    A "hydrolocked" engine from oil ingestion would strain the starter, causing the battery to quickly discharge and or not have enough cranking amps to actually crank/move the pistons?.... seems to clear you have to pull the plugs and work the starter watch for fuel spillage!
    So then, this thread apparently confirms that the engine does not need to be running in order to flood the air box and cylinder with oil when it is laying on its left side. Good to know.
