Prayers to all those around the globe dealing with Covid-19. Here in the San Francisco area we are on lock-down from the government in an attempt to slow down the spread of the virus. Not supposed to go to work, or leave your house unless you need to go out to get food, necessary supplies or exercise. And keep 6 feet away from others. To pass the time I spent the day in my garage installing a new front tire on my Street Twin. Be safe !!

Keep healthy and ride safe. Pretty sure your governor has had a major snowflake knee jerk reaction as California is a large vast area. It's well known as mostly bankrupt state government, asking the feds for another bailout, but thumbs it's nose at federal law enforcement, and imposing outrageous very expensive standards on the rest of the USA.

Forcing people into lock down maybe the only way to go as all around the world people are being a bit silly and using this time as a kind of holiday :(

We just have to drive the nail out of sight that the ‘front line’ is us not our overwhelmed medics.

This is a reverse relay race where the bug is the baton. We have to drop it at every opportunity. It needs a body to survive and thrive.

Morons who don’t social distance put everyone at risk from themselves to their elderly.

Don't believe all the hot air out there Phred. California isn't half the things I read out there. While it my have major problems, money is not.one of them. All the politicians want to have the state in THIER pocket. So you read a lot of crazy negative stuff. California.could EASILY be it's own country. I have no political leanings. Standing still politically, you can really tell which way the political winds blow. There is a lot of hot air. out there. I've just lived here since 1945. ...J.D.

And the people enter this as exhibit A showing the arrogance Cali is known for. Go for it.

Sorry friend. I did not mean that in an arrogant way. I only mean it is pretty much self contained. I have no political slant. Oddly I find just like people would find it hard to move here because of the expense. I would find it hard to leave. Not because of any love or passion for.the state. When you are born and raised in a place so different it would be quite a.change after 74 years. I have been retired here for many years. I did not leave when I retired to find a cheaper place to live. My finances and life were already geared for this and the area supplies everything needed to sustain me and my wife. True like.any densely populated areas, it comes with some undesirable attributes. That is life in a modern world. ...J.D.

This thread is created by a friendly chap sending the message to "be safe" and just telling us how his situation is and how he is dealing with it.
And some turn this into a pissing contest on what US state is the best (or worst) and starting to slagging people off.
    Guys...ffs....

Thanks SuperHans! I just want people to be safe. I heard 600 people died in Italy just yesterday. And deaths are mounting in the US. Social distancing is the only way I know to slow it down until they come up with a vaccine. And they will. Just have to hunker down until then and don't help it spread.

Again thanks for your kind words.

Unfortunately, the more densely populated parts of the world are the hardest hit. If you live or work in close proximity it is hard to avoid. Be safe all. The wife and I have not seen close friends or family in over a week. We have been keeping in touch mostly by text message. I established a Zoom Account yesterday to set up our conference calling. Should be able to test it today. Take this seriously everyone. This is not a joke. This is not fake news. This is reality. ...J.D.

There were a few more than 600 that died in Italy yesterday it was 793 I’m sorry to say.

    Very sad.

Stay safe over the pond irrespective of which state you live in.

Apparently Devils Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale was rammed today, people stood in groups chatting away. Are these people not listening? I went out on the bike, topped up at a pay at pump, rode around and never spoke to anybody. Bliss!

I know what you mean. I just couldn’t adjust to life in a city like LA. I’d feel like I couldn’t get away. I’ve been to plenty of large cities, Sydney Aus being a favorite. I get along fine. I just don’t jive with Cali. I’m afraid more densely populated areas are going to be the most hard hit by this. Stay safe.

I don't live there anymore. I have space out of town but I had to commute in to the city until I retired. Wife and I are hunkerd down at our place we own out on the desert. 1 1/4acres here. I think we should be OK until this is over.

Round my way (North Essex) it was like Mad Max last night - all I could hear were noisy, loud-pipe low capacity bikes at all hours. As an aside, I hope this will maybe make Triumph think twice about making bikes in Thailand. If they were made in the UK, they wouldn't be so susceptible to the global supply shocks.

Take care and stay safe BigCLM. My son and his wife live in Santa Barbara so I’m up to speed with what it’s like down there. Going that way here.
