    Well it happened !!!

not had license long and did the full rookie and dropped my bike !!

had my license since jan and been riding as much as can and I got my bike out this morning to do a oil and filter change and foot slipped and bike tipped and dinked the tank of the door frame

    absolutely gutted !

gonna take the positive out of it though and get her re painted but that begs the question do I go back to standard or maybe go matte black or green which I’ve seen and I think it looks amazing !!

how does everyone get on with matte paint ??

Pics added for fun value lol

That's a real bummer, and I guess we have all had a similar experience. I love the Triumph Jet and Phanton blacks, particularly on the Speed and Street Triples, and I'm not a big fan of matt paint. However it would be a very boring place if we all had the same taste.

I hope you get it sorted quickly and for not too much cost.

I love that shade of green, very nice! I think your current black is better than the matt black.

You are so right there. Bikes we can fix body parts in very low supply since Frankenstein gave up doctoring. I had a lovely rocket three many years ago 69 model all original. I was wheeling an old 650 honda into the garage and lost the footing the rocket three took the brunt and you should have seen the dent in the tank on that one. Yes I cried but it got repaired and then I sold it so it would stay safe.
    Regards
    Joe.

Shame about dent but it will fix, regards how do folks get on with matte paint, my first matte Bike was an orange street triple R and I hated the paint it showed every mark so I had it lacquered and it looked fantastic, I’ve now got a matte silver street 765 RS which I would say is more of a satin rather than the matte was on my 675 R, I did look into getting it lacquered but everyone talked me out of it even the lad who was going to lacquer it so I’ve just left it as it’s easy to keep looking nice.

hiya buddy thank you yeah makes sense as forks would still be shinny

Matte looks nice but may just be best to put it back to gloss black or maybe some flip variation of the black maybe a flip or something

(Sorry thinking out loud lol )

Oh dear mate. I feel your pain.

Matt paint looks great but it's a pain in the arse to care for, it scratches easy and you can't repair it.

Your bike deserves something special, find a design you like and run with it.

    Fuck off you nosy cunt
Avoid matte black. Shiny is easy to keep clean, and looks good. Howsabout some funky artwork though?

Shiny. Mmmmmmmmm..... We likes it shiny.

Sorry to hear of the slip up! . Its happened to us all, mind. And like @Dozers Dad I too always sit on the steed to move it about. Learned the hard way.
