Hello People, Today was collection day and so I was at my local Triumph dealership for 9am prompt this morning. Handover experience was brilliant and it was like a family atmosphere at the dealership, everyone is so friendly and polite over there! Well, I'm pleased to say I'm chuffed with it, it's so different to what I'm used to (Only Sportbikes), yet so nice in its own way. Sounds pretty fruity even with the standard cans, very throaty with a deep base sound if that makes sense, I like it! Lots of mid range torque available in any gear which makes it very easy to ride. For a heavy bike at 213kg dry it feels quite nimble, pretty light steering and easy to manoeuvre. I've had an enjoyable day and what started off with 1 mile on the odometer at handover, it's now showing 75! . As I said, it's different but I like it, different ride for different mood, it's now parked up next to its German brother in the garage. It's in the running in phase so I have to keep revs under 4k for the first 300 miles and then under 6K from 300-600 miles till RIS. As promised in another thread, here are some pics: Oh, and check this out from Triumph in making you feel a bit special. As part of purchasing a brand new bike, they provide you a Triumph branded backpack, folder and leather keyring, this was a nice little surprise. (Take note BMW!!!) Went to show my Dad, he had no idea I was getting it and he got a bit emotional as it reminded him of my Grandfather's bike in someways (Royal Enfield Bullet) I hope you like it!

Yes, definitely a slower rate of knots, I was noticing things on my ride yesterday that I haven't before, more upright position just soaking in and enjoying the views I think you might be right in terms of appreciation from non-bikers! I stopped to have a coffee at Costa and parked up the bike, managed to get a window seat in Costa so I could admire the bike and also keep an eye on it. I saw a couple of old gentleman stop and look around the bike, both probably 65-70 age range I reckon. One gent was with what looked like his wife, and he was standing there for a couple of mins explaining something to her. They both walked away smiling and it made me smile too. Perhaps he had one of the originals back in the day
Hello there! Yes, I agree with you that the Blue and White combination goes very well, was the colour I wanted when I saw them at the MCN Show earlier in the year. My 8 year old daughter loved it and said "Daddy, get one of these". I was already looking at modern classics, so for me when she said that it was the stamp of approval! Didn't think it would happen this soon, but there you go hey, amazing and I feel lucky (Need the hand joining emoji here!) LOL @ wrong BMW! This is my third S1000RR now, been through all the generations with them and currently on the latest, taking delivery just last month. It's also in the running in phase. Not quite ready for a GS, but might have to try one some day or even the Triumph Tiger!.
Hello and thank you very much! This is it MadMrB, different rides for different moods. When I grab the helmet for the Bonnie, I'll flick a switch and be in a nice chilled out cruising mode, when I do the same for the S1000RR I'll be (well in my mind at least) Mr Rossi riding mode! (All safely and responsibly of course). One doesn't replace the other but as you rightly say, get to appreciate each for what they are and this is why I enjoyed my ride so much on it yesterday.
Welcome to the nuthouse. You will probably find a different sort of atmosphere on this forum. A lot of great people, even though a bit off in the head. If you see a rant starting from one of the regulars just yell for Nursie! They might be off their meds!

@Dozers Dad - In reply to your point in the other thread, I agree with you and will be keeping it pretty standard, don't think I'll be going down the route of LED indicators or anything like that, because in my opinion the whole point is it's supposed to look period for that time/era. I must admit the Triumph catalogue of accessories is very impressive. I might add a grab rail at the back like there is on the T120 and perhaps a fly screen and some minor OEM enhancements for the casings on the sides. But I think it looks brilliant from the factory and so not a lot needs doing. Been looking at Urban Biker website, they have some nice things.

Great bike. Have had so many people come up to me and say how much they like the Bonneville. Picked up my T100 2018 model late last year (Ling's of Norfolk) so the wife and I are looking forward to the better weather to get plenty of cruising miles on it.
