:joy:I can relate, but we are not as affected by snow/salt as you are, so sympathise. I do enjoy your summer ride pics, so share the same.

Really fun poker run. A, B, and some offbeat roads with no markings or signage.
Some Nelson members had to Marshall the route for safety.:sun:

End of day 3 had great meal followed by fundraising auction and prize giving.
I won best bike under 1200cc for the subtle (or not so) customisation. Was a nice surprise with so many (150+) bikes there.:heart:
Long night and too many beers :cool:.

Day 4 was hard work and I didn’t make breakfast. Time to head back north, but some time for a scenic ride before the ferry.

Once ferry docked, we raced to Whanganui with a gas stop at Levin. Made the hotel on nightfall. Checked in and nice Thai meal before bed

Day5: full English breakfast at the old Grand Hotel prepared us for the big ride home. We were able to store our bike in the hotel garage that had some well maintained autos.

Back tracked to be able to ride famous Rangipo Desert Road, an awesome experience.
Butt suffered after nearly 7 hours, with only KFC at Taupo and gas stops

Not a great video of all the views, but gives you an idea of the isolation. Closes regularly in winter from snow/ice.

Thanks @Easy Rider yes all safe by all accounts. Saw some close calls with ignorant cars changing 5 lanes at once to get to an off ramp nearly collecting one of our guys merging right :imp: but fantastic trip with 2 bucket list rides.
Body is sore after 2000km and bike needs servicing and new rear tyre
