That nobody has mentioned the bloody coronavirus ...everywhere else seems to be buzzing with it must admit i am slightly worried as i have to travel down from the wilds of Norfolk to the UCLH in London for another round of cancer treatment....bit of a rock and hard place scenario.

 

The company I work for have called a meeting in London on Thursday, 200 plus engineers in a hotel then out doing jobs in home - makes no sense at all....

 

By the way - hope the treatment goes to plan and fights this cancer..all the best mate

 

What virus?

 

Seems to me that it's nothing worse than influenza. Apparently 4 out of 5 people who contract it will suffer only mild symptoms. Old and frail people are at risk as they are with the flu.

 

I'm due to go to northern Italy on the 16th April for a kids rugby tournament. I have mixed feelings on whether I should go or not. I'm hoping the government will make the decision for me so I can get off the fence....

By the way @Tricky-Dicky I hope the treatment goes well mate..

 

Apparently the first signs of needing a rest are putting too many letters in words..

Still, as you are worried, take simple precautions like carrying alcohol gel/tissues so you can keep your hands & face clean.

Otherwise, keep giving that cancer a bloody good kicking.

 

The FCO now advise against all but essential travel to 10 small towns in Lombardy and one in Veneto which have been isolated by the Italian authorities.

FFS It’s flu with a name! Just like storms, give em a name and suddenly the country is closing down! More people die from the incognito flu each year and before they had names there Was a bit of a storm blowing through.

 

This is all over. We are getting some cases here in the western U.S. People are getting a bit nervous. We have been laying in some extra supplies anyhow this year. We have added a bit of cleaning and sanitation supplies this week as well. Hope it will not be necessary, but the wife and I are a bit old and my health has been a bit fragile. I think the media hyping of Corona on yesterdays news programmes was down to the Cobra summit meet. called by government.

Coronavirus: Northern Italy to 'quarantine 16 million people'

Italy is set to lock down at least 16 million people in the region of Lombardy and in 11 other provinces in the north and east of the country.

The mandatory quarantine will last until early April.
