I can't find reliable information about good hard saddlebags for my new Speedmaster 2019. Seems that both the aftermarket and original stock are not very popular.

I was looking at some Viking bags, but they are not 2019 specific. Anyone with experience mounting these types of bags?

Are there any suggestions or alternatives in the market? I need them to be hard shell and with a lock...Mexico City is a BIG city and I want my stuff to be safe.

Welcome to the family. Bags are what they are your good bags may be my worst bags its all a matter of opinion. I my self have used givi panniers and rails should do some for your steed. Baglux should be another but Triumph in my opinion are just as good. Any bags you get spend 10 minutes a year and bee's wax them and they are perfect. But do show the inmates your steed. Just hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and it will keep the inmates happy.
    Regards & Ride Safe

I have found it simpler to use Kriega bags that remove from the bike when you park. Safe and convenient and waterproof.
Come in range of sizes (mine is 20l) 10,20,30l and you can combine 2x20l as saddle bags to a 30l pack.

I just bought racks for my new Speedmaster to mount the Hepco Becker Juniors I have been using on my Griso for the past 7 years.

    From the HB website:

I agree and have never been a fan of them, but my wife can't carry much on her Street Triple, so my bike is always the pack mule on our trips.

Do you think it would fit nicely with the stock pillion seat?

It would sit on top, the pillion seat acting as a guard protector. The straps attach to the grab rail. No good if you have pillion rider.
I travelled away this week with the Triumph backpack stowed under the bag, as straps are adjustable

Thanks for the reply. What I like about them is that they can be added onto and used on my other bikes also.

    Hello Dartplayer.
I am new to this forum and recently bought a 20’ Speedmaster and am in need of a quick disconnect bag for work commutes. Curious where you purchased the rack to replace the pillon seat. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of aftermarket parts for the Speedmaster yet here in the states.
    Thank you. Brian aka BartlebyBiker

Hi Brian, I am based in NZ and freight from https://www.worldoftriumph.com/collections/bonneville-speedmaster
Part is Pressed mudguard finisher In Chrome or Black.
Not cheap at US$131, but 3mm stainless and quality.
You can find part number and then search Triumph US

Hello Dartplayer and thank you for the information. Late yesterday, I “stumbled” upon the item on eBay. I have one coming from Triumph of Seattle for $110 usd. Will be a great addition to the bike and help save the paint. Would rather spend a few dollars now and not have to repaint later. Again, thank you for your help and with your post maybe others will find this great accessory. Oh and nice job of New Zealand containing this darn virus

Great news. I couldn’t stop looking at mine after fitting it, as it is truly well engineered:heart_eyes:
Such a shame to throw a bag on it, but occasionally I wip the clips off for short runs

    Hi Dartplayer,
I like the idea of putting Kriega Dry Pack tail bag on the finisher on the rear fender. But I am also interested in the ISO Wing Mini Boards you have in this photo. How do you like them ? Are they easy to use as far as gear changes and brake? May I ask what are the Kuryakyn part numbers for the boards and the tapered peg adapters? Easy to install?
    Cheers,
    RedBonnie

Hi @BonnieRed, I needed to raise both gear and brake levers, otherwise they are perfect for me. Used the original spring clips and also assembled with 2 pack adhesive and lock tight to ensure strength. :imp:
There are options available from Wish shopping app, at verying rates.

Thanks for the info Dartplayer! I recently found them from Kuryakyn.com. Just wanted to see if you liked them and if they are worth the money ( $160 CAD ).

    Cheers,
    :)
