Just been down to see the Aircraft carrier H.M.S Prince of Wales come into the Mersey, to dock at Liverpool, on a cold wet bleak day.

Wow that's brilliant Tiglet, They must be well in. My lady works at the cruise terminal, and she's struggled to get a ticket just to get on. She had no chance getting one for me. :(

Anyone know how long it’s going to be moored there? Wouldn’t mind seeing it in the flesh so to speak.

Yes we we're only allowed on the hanger deck, Nowhere sensitive. They had a couple of Helicopters which you could get in if you wanted to queue, missiles, a commando dingy, and loads of other stuff to do with the ship, how it was built etc. It was like being at a military show. really interesting :)

I served, for 3 years, on HMS Invincible, which was t'last class of carriers we had. T'new ones are HUGE compared to t'owd uns. There's a photo knocking about where it shows one of t'owd uns in dry dock, alongside the PoW. The difference is really visual. I'd love to go onboard for a look round. The photo's int hangar bring back a lot of memories.

There was 3 of t'Invincible class, the other 2 being Illustrious and Ark Royal. The 3rd one was going to be called the Indomitable, but they changed t'name when t'public kicked up a fuss, when t'owd Ark Royal was scrapped. The TV show made it massively popular.
