Looks like it grounds through the chassis. I think you just need to run a wire off your power source [either at the battery or fuse panel] through a fuse and a switch to that white wire. I would also add a relay myself, and power it off the ignition curcuit so that when you shut the key off the relay opens and shuts the light off. ...J.D.

I like your idea but am going to need more help. Can you recommend an online kit with all you suggested?

Sorry. Kind of hard to help from here. I am a long way from you. I usually buy pieces as I find them, and put things together as I need them out of my own parts bins. Do you have a riding buddy that can help out ? ...J.D.

Non that are mechanically inclined. I guess I better take it to a shop. Aside from parts what would you say is a ballpark rate for this install?

This points to one of my biggest frustrations in life. Nobody fixes anything these days. I even have a very difficult time even buying parts and supplies to do this work. Seems like if you are under about 60 yrs. old it has to come in a box. No one seems to know how to even solder a wire, or change a fuse. In my generation we were doing these things in Jr.High School. Very frustrating. I guess I'm just obsolete. ...J.D.

No Gil. At 74 I am unemployable. Good thing I was savvy enough to prepare for my future with 2 fat pensions and Social Security. I haven't worked in over 11 years. Nobody wants an old guy. We are too expensive. ...J.D.

Here is what it looks like. I forgot to put the tax disc back on. The fog light is mounted but not functional. I just dropped the bike off at a local motorcycle shop. I'm not that skilled so I'm going to have to come out of pocket.

I have the like fully functional now.
I have the light fully functional now. They went straight to the battery with a fuse and a toggle switch on the handlebar. I I forgot to mention the relay, oh well. I'll upload some pictures when it's dark as soon as get a chance.

Gil: Mine is an America so I added these. They were a factory option on Americas and Speedmasters but I don't think you can get them anymore. ...J.D.

Being a native of Southern California, I know you want all the light you can get. Drivers are crazy. You need to be extra safety cautious here. ...J.D.

    JD,

I want to wire it as you recommended. I want the fog light to only work when I have the switch open. I have some questions. What relay would you recommend? I hear there is a 4 prong or 5 prong. Am I looking for a certain voltage? Where would you hide the relay?

Carpy & Gil: Been in So.Cal all my life. Currently living in San Bernardino County. I just did a single fog light for my Legend [no picture yet]. I had to custom fabricate it myself.. I put mine on the left though because we DO drive on the wrong side of the road here ;)
