    I have seen the wooden wheel with disc and cable operated pincers before but not the others.

    Ingenuity at work.

    I drilled two holes and bolted a block of wood to the sidestand on my yam 200 to make it more upright, needs must

    I always carried a pair of mole grips when out in the woods on my mountain bike after snapping a pedal and borrowing some from a friend to use for the 5 mile pedal back.

    There is a difference. Vice grips don't take a chunk out of your palm when you snap them open / closed !!!
    I can't recall, as the last pair of mole grips I owned got thrown 100 yds into the field next to my house after the feckin thing 'got' me :mad:

    :p:laughing::joy:

    Vice grips only in my tool chest now:cool:

    Now THAT reminds me of when my Dad lost his wallet.

    We had this outside toilet......with a broken seat. He kept meaning to fix it but the crack didn’t matter because he/we only ever used it when nipping in from the garden.

    But one day he got caught short. And sat down. And stood up. Which must have been when his wallet fell out of his hip pocket and got kicked behind the pan......

    I've had the mole grip gearchange at the 1980 TT on my T140V. Coming back from watching the racing, my gear lever broke in Ramsey, luckily outside the Swan inn. A fella in the pub said a welder lives opposite,so I went over and he got his 14 yr old lad to do it. Happy days so I gave the lad a fiver. Half way over the mountain the weld snapped???? So the moleys came out. I'm ashamed to admit they where still on for a couple of weeks when I got home. tut tut!
