I wear Richa and have been happy with it. Rukka tailoring doesn't work for me. Get to a decent shop and try on loads of options. There's no point in fixing on a brand if the tailoring doesn't work for you. Richa Cyclone and matching trousers still dry in any amount of rain after 3 years for me, and most importantly they fit me really well. Also consider recent legislation on CE classification and make sure you're not buying 'leisure wear'. https://www.motolegends.com/ce-approved-motorcycle-clothing And a Belstaff in budget
Another shout for the dianese D cyclone stuff. Someone on here linked the jacket from Sports bike shop as it was 2xl and heavily discounted. Think I paid about 320 for it. Then waited a while until I found the matching trousers also discounted at 300. They've made riding in the wet and cold enjoyable combi ed with heated grips I feel toasty and safer and more relaxed.
There is no doubt that riding with the right gear makes the experience so much better. I can remember back in the day always being cold and wet, not like that any more....
Halvarssons, had my jacket for nearly 10 years and it's still waterproof. It's so old that it's actually charcoal grey now, as opposed to the original black. Also got a pair of their trousers, I can actually ride through rain without getting the obligatory damp crotch !!!
I bought a halvarssons jacket & trousers back in 2007. Still waterproof but showing its age a bit. I bought a pair of their riding jeans about 2 years ago. While chatting to the supplier I mentioned that my old suit was still going strong but the collar was fraying a bit where it rubbed against the bottom of my helmet. No worries he says, we can send it back to halvarssons and they will replace the collar for you. I didn't take him up on the offer but thought that it was excellent customer service.
My waist strap snapped on my halvarssons jacket, was over 3 year old, they arranged collection, repair and return. Their customer service is second to none.
