News of the impending approach of storm Ciara leads to chaotic exit from rally field

 

Joe,
I just about remember riding from Heywood to Pirbright on a C15 somewhere around March 1962.
It was to watch a “100 Mile Scramble”. Took me forever and a couple of days of hard riding.
Don’t think they do those any more? Anyone else remember the 100 mile scrambles?

Went looking for tank bag at Bodelwyddan - no joy. Contact police in St Asaph to see if anyone has handed it in.

I used to get out of breath doing 15 minutes plus a lap at Moto-X

I had forgotten that bag and contents ever existed before you posted.
Thank much for making the effort, but I thought it would probably have been run over many times soon after leaving the comfort of the tank.

PS. The only injuries I Heard about was a young lady had an off when she slipped on a roundabout between checkin and Rally site, and a chap fell off at the entrance/exit and went off in the Ambulance to get a leg ligament re attached, so he was away overnight.

 

I wonder what impact this years weather will have on future events?

Doesn't look any worse than when I went in the late 80's.
I'll try to remember to scan some photos at some point that look very similar

 

It’s probably still drying out from when you went! Guy I spoke to said he did remember someone that looked like you there, about 30 years ago

I'm shocked - been riding Rockets for 8 years and there is No way I would take onto a muddy field. As you say - only the brave (or barmy)
