Just thought I'd try this.... I'm looking for a set of preferably triumph panniers with fittings for a Thunderbird 1600 with detachable sissy bar.
Getting rare these days but you never know...someone might have them.
We're touring Europe on it in early July....I have a set of Held Denver's.....and an enormous tail pack from Saddlemen...but my Beloved will need to take 300 pairs of shoes with her.
    BTW
I'd rather tour on the Tiger 955i but SHE finds it too tall with the Wilber rear shock.
    Such is life.

Sorry, across the pond, so panniers = saddlebags.

I did Tsukayu with easy mount brackets. Fits fine with Triumph sissy bar.
Bags are removable when you want a "Stripped down" ride.

You can see at this website (where I bought the bags):
    https://www.tsukayu.com/EasyStrong_Thunderbird.html

Everything else on my bike is Triumph except windshield.

    Good luck!

Thanks for responding. Im familiar with the Tsukayu stuff from my time with a Bonnie America.
I was thinking of soft luggage really...but maybe I need to think a bit more radically.

    Hi,

I've got a set of the Triumph panniers and brackets off my Storm. I think these are the only accessories I'll probably sell, although I'd prefer pickup so buyer can fit and make sure all ok (I've had lots of Triumph accessories so want ot make sure I got all bits with the right accessory). I had the panniers and Sissy bar fitted.

How much are you after mate? Like you, I'm not a fan of panniers on the Nightstorm so just trying to work out a way of carrying kit without spoiling the looks.
Wondering if I could just refit the rear seat when I need to and fit a tailback?

I am after £350 for panniers and brackets ( pannier new £495 and brackets new £160).

I had a tubular rack that I used wit a single seat but that was only really good for small bags (eg waterproofs, jumper). Couldn't get a larger bag to secure safely.

Using the panniers with just the single seat didn't look too bad IMO

Using panniers, plus touring seats plus sissy bar served a purpose but .......

Hi, Did you sell the panniers and bracket, i have just started to look for a set.
Rang Triumph up and as they have stopped making the Thunderbird so to have they stopped making the accessories.
    Cheers

Yep still for sale (well actually havent advertised except on here), still not sure how i'd wrap these up for postage.
Given the comments on discounted panniers from triumph I'll reduce tbe price to £250 plus postage for the panniers and brackets (I believe the brackets may be hard to come by so i will not split).

    Hi
You might be local to me....your tbird looks like it was photographed at Laguna Maidstone.....if so I might also be interested if it doesn't work out with the previous poster.

Al, you are correct it was Laguna motorcycles, but they are an hour away from me in west sussex.

I'd prefer collection as we can fit them there and then and make sure everyone is happy.

    Not impossible...I'm in Tunbridge Wells.
I'd prefer not to gazump your other enquirer though.
    Is that likely to proceed?
And I also presume your fittings are for a fixed not removable backrest/ sissy bar setup? Not a problem if so.

The brackets are just for the panniers. I also have the triumph QR sissy bar for sale and this comes with fixings to the pannier bracket that allow them to all work together. The sissy bar can be removed (Quick Release) within seconds once unlocked with a key.

Horsham - East Grinstead - Tunbridge Wells is a nice route about an hours ride and one we sometime do in the summer. The road between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells (the a264 i think) is stunning.

I've also got the qr sissy bar...but not correct bike fitting for the panniers.
I think the bike bobbins will need spacers to accept the pannier fitting ...but I'm ok to buy panniers and your moubtings x and see if I canm and match
I know it well..used to do some work occasionally in Horsham.
My bike is the 1600 tbird but as far as I'm aware it uses the same frame as the storm and fittings will be interchangeable.
I've got the qr backrest etc but will need to modify/ fit spacers to the bike bobins to fit panniers at the same time...I'm happy to take my chances on making it all work eventually.
I'm mostly retired these days so relatively free to come over ....probably in the car as I doubt a straight fit will happen immediately!
