I only went to the Dragon Rally once many years ago.
I only realised after I had bought the ticket that it was only a single night :(. Long way to go for one night.

Trip up was good with some lovely scenery and nice weather. Once had found the site went for a ride in the hills as it was nice and sunny. About 10 mins later the heavens opened and I got soaked. Temp went down to about -10 overnight which was not good in wet clothes. Can't remember there being a beer tent or anything, just a big bonfire.
I always remember a guy on a Z1300 going home wrapped in his sleeping bag to try and keep warm :grinning:

Still have the badge, it was huge and well worth the effort LoL.

A48F092B-94FA-4E1F-8F3C-187950FEC57B.jpeg Thought my bike was unscathed after falling over in the mud, but as it’s one of those with the engine stickin’ out the side it’s now got scratches on the rocker cover, because, those Welsh people had hidden lumps of flint in the mud to catch out poor riders like me!

I gave the bike a gentle hot foam jet wash to day to clear mud from everywhere mud could go, then a gentle cold wash and rode half a mile home, where I got my hot air blower going.
You’d be amazed just how much moisture shows up when you start the blower.
I took the seat off because there’s always water under there, but water seems to appear from everywhere and I’m certain if you washed and dried your bike with a cloth or chamois you would be leaving loads of moisture in places you just can’t get at/see.
Didn’t know whether I was wasting my cash when I bought the dryer, but now I’m pleased I did.
    This is it.
This is my goody bag. Think they gave me a bigger whisky because I couldn’t stay the night ;):p

Spare a thought for Nudger, who had come to terms with being deserted by his daddy in the Triumph shop, only to reunited with his daddy .
Then Nudger has been ridden through one of the worst storms for years, ridden up a muddy field & abandoned whilst 'daddy' got pissed in the beer tent , then ridden back home again, Nudger didn't miss a beat, he got Dilli back home safe, and Nudger's reward from his daddy .....

    Heartless Dilli, just heartless! :broken_heart::sob::weary_face::broken_heart::broken_heart:

Steady up there, Joe...dilli’s the badass biker....I’m just a pretender.
The forecast for Sunday put me off, but, my original intention was to get a B&B booked for Saturday night and go back in on Sunday. You’d have to start looking for a bed once you’d found the field and I like to plan when I can. They did say the site is within a 5mile Radius of the check in, but lady that stamped my ticket said it’s about 20 miles from here to site.
I only did 244.5 miles and was knackered when I got home...can’t begin to imagine how dilligaf felt on arriving home, he must have clocked up 500+ miles!
    Cheers,
    Ken.

Kenbro. I stand by my words. you were there and did the effort and it cost you more losing your bag and valuables. But Dilligaf is a real hero aswell

In fairness Steve had it just been cold it would’ve been ok :)
But when your Feckin tent is trying to kill ya through the night :skull:
And I’ll never know how I got out without dropping NUDGER :grinning:
I’m sure you can imagine the ride home :cold_sweat:
But hey it’s something I wanted to do for years and now it’s off the list :p
