Thanks, @dilligaf! Hmmm, it would be tough to turn down having a matching Rocket 3 and Mustang Bullitt. We shall see. But I definitely don't want another accident with injuries to be the impetus for getting a new Triumph!
Of course you all are worthy, @Judd Dredd. More than! But I laughed my arse off nonetheless when I saw this video clip. Thanks for the smile.
Thanks, @SleepyOwl! What a great road is the PCH and an even better one to drive down in a Mustang! Is there anything that you recall in particular that you loved about the car?
Thanks, @Duckadiledundee! I've pretty much always had that philosophy but now that has been amplified tenfold! Interestingly, at least several of the reviews on YouTube or review articles I watched and read said that this Mustang is somewhat of a cross between a muscle car and a sports car. I think the video I'm posting here says it's more of a sports car (if I recall correctly). I absolutely love this video as it underscores the understatedness of some folks from across the pond. Perhaps not necessarily forum members. This Mustang Bullitt review YouTube video was filmed on the Isle of Man. Enjoy!
Oh yes, @Dozers Dad and @Retired Phil. I definitely read between the lines on DD's initial post to this thread. I think some of it is definitely British humor (humour). And the remainder I reckon is unique to DD.
@Old phart phred. The only way this new car worked in my "one easy payment budget plan" was to dig into my savings account. I've been loath to spend out of it but after this whole experience I am thinking a bit differently, shall we say?! Would love to see some photos of that '67 Ford Healy! Please post if you have to shovel the dust off of it. I hadn't thought of naming my Mustang but that's a great idea! I suspect once I start driving it it will somehow name itself.
I'm not, @stollydriver. Sal, my salesman, started telling me that there is going to be a 2020 Mustang that has electric capability. Before he even finished his spiel I told him I wasn't interested in any Mustang engine save the 5.0 L V8.
Yes it could be that Phil thought I might be offended, DD. But having raced bicycles with mostly men and ridden motorcycles with mostly men, I am rather "practiced" at hearing and responding (or not responding!) to "mostly men" comments. I do, however, still appreciate a bit of gallantry now and again. So if that's the case, thanks, @Retired Phil. I don't know about the exhaust opening switch. But I'd be surprised if my car has has it because the window sticker said that it is "50 state compliant". That's code for "this vehicle has a fecking choked off exhaust system thanks to California's emission rules".
If we are suggesting names can I throw in Black Beauty, or Bucephalus ,Alexander the Great loved his horse so much that he gave him a state funeral when he died and named a city after him.
The great idea, @David Cooper! It's tops on my name list. Well, at this point it's the only one on my name list. But it may be my final choice because I had horses growing up and Black Beauty was one of my all-time favorite books. Thanks! Ideas from others of you out there are most welcome!
Awesome video, DD! I watched the whole thing. Loved the stretch from 21:40 on. The rule makers in California should see that. I do know one thing. I will never be moving to Switzerland! No matter how good the cheese and chocolate and scenery are...not happening. P.S. Loved the soundtrack, too. I'm a Tom Petty fan. In fact, my iPhone ringtone is "Running Down a Dream".
Sandi T Great car. Been listening to the clips and yes what a beast it is. You are right you owe it to your self. And money is only money. Happiness is eternal. Regards Joe.
I think I'll pass on Bucephalus as a name for my new Mustang. Thanks for the suggestion, though, @David Cooper! I guess I could shorten it up to Buc.
Thanks, @joe mc donald. You are so right. As you said, "money is only money and happiness is eternal".
Well, DD, if I was on your Christmas card list this last year, your card must have gotten lost in the mail. Glad you liked the video. It's one of my favorites! Fun to know what you said about British motor in journalists hating American cars generally. That does make this reviewer's comments all the more complementary.
Sandi T Even though it was a great review and the many others that review it. Doesn't mean a thing it pleases you. You have it And it's what you think that matters. And you will soon be telling us al about your first spin. Regards Joe.
