Just been reading mail from RevZilla and I’m amazed to learn filtering and lane splitting is not legal in some states in America! (Land of the free)
Wonder how Sandi T gets along with that?
    Cheers,Ken.
PS. And all other American motorcyclists.

Very few states allow it, never done it myself. In Kansas we can stop at red lights, and then proceed thru it on a bike. Every state has different laws.

I just looked at the UK helmet laws - absolutely bloody brilliant to require them for all people except the turban wearers.

I remember (Just about!) when we had a group, M.A.G. Motorcycle Action Group? That campaigned to get the helmet law scrapped...without success.
Not sure whether MAG still around as had forgotten about it until this thread.
    Ken.

It was the early 70's as I recall when MAG was campaigning against the helmet law which had just been introduced. I believe they are still active to this day but mainly on other motorcycling related issues.

I don't want to get into a racial discrimination arguement and I've absolutely nothing against Sikhs, but to allow one group of people to get away with not wearing a helmet on religious grounds when everyone else had to by law, was and is, in my opinion quite wrong.

An excellent, but rather sad article Don.
