    Ethan.
It just is beautiful and you deserve every credit you get. Its a pleasure to see it out there being used for what it was designed for.
    Regards
    Joe.

Hello again sorry to keep bothering you all but I’m after a little advice (again),
My bike has started misfiring a little last time I changed spark plugs and all was good now it’s started again, could there be a reason it’s seems to be breaking spark plugs? ( new plus was less than 200 miles ago)
    Thanks again in advance,
    Ethan

Old brit bike fueling is usually set up a bit on the rich side it only takes something like the float hight to be slightly high or a restrictive filter to make it fowl the plugs which will cause a misfire and lumpy running...could also be the mag playing up...points gap closed up...also mags dont like resistor plugs or plug caps.

There is one set of points on magneto ign that open twice off the cam ring, i'm no expert on these as i only really do unit motors,

You will need the manual and a degree disc for the setting but basically this little video i found you will tell you the details...i usually use the classic fag paper to check when the points are just opening....best tool for mag setting.;)

I was over at Bulldog Triumph the other day. They had a terrific looking thunderbird sitting there. It looked pristine and almost certain OEM original. It looked like it had never been worked on barring small jobs. Not sure but I even think it had to original silencers. But they said it was not for sale. I was sorely tempted.
    Regards
    Joe.

Hi once again I’m in need of a bit of advice I have a broken slip ring in the magneto I bought a new one but I ordered a k1f slip ring with the complete copper strip but have since discovered (with lots of help from google) that I need a k2f with the smaller strip of copper,
Question number 1, the magneto turns clockwise as I’m looking at the points side of the mag does that mean I need clockwise slip ring or is it looking from the gear side?

question number 2 does anybody know where I can buy a slip ring as I can only find the solid band ones ?
    Thanks in advance Ethan

Just wondering...did the 1955 T birds have Ali heads?
Our small town had a Motorcycle Riders Club in the 50s and early 60s, but I don’t remember (And Triumph 650 models were popular) any T Birds Having Ali Heads then.
    Regards,Ken.

As far as I know it’s a t120 bonneville head and barrel, the head is 1960s (can’t remember the exact year it had stamped on it)

I had quite a few good little rides out last summer thanks joe, then I had the problem with the mag and had no idea what was wrong until now but I’m trying to get it in good shape ready for summer.
