Whenever I'm logged into the forum, if I change to read a different thread then go to reply to it, I find that for some reason I have to log in again. This can happen 2 or 3 times in a session. Does this happen to anybody else, or is it just me with my paraffin driven computer.

I used to have this problem now and then, but not since I upgraded to a new computer.

What browser are you using? Always used to find that AOL provided browsers used to do the same, if it actually let you log in at all..... Or even register.

Internet explorer also has problems with forum logins too... So maybe try a different browser, like chrome or Firefox.

I put a large hammer through my last computer. :) I use an android device nowadays.

Phone,Tablet, or computer you can set them to save the password and auto log you on, just google it for information on how to do it,but don't save passwords for anything private, like banks

I don't have a problem logging on and my password is saved, it's staying logged on while I'm on site that I'm having a problem with. You could be right Big Sandy, perhaps it deserves a visit from Mr Lump hammer.

I notice you're not a subscriber (not saying "cough up, ye ken :)) and wonder if it's the adverts doing it, especially if you have a popup blocker running.

Doubtful, as the ads don't 'pop up' per se, but if you have a blocker running it might be worth switching it off for this forum.

And, yes to Mr Lumpy! :grinning:

Cheers Big Sandy, It could well be the adverts, they are always in the way and opening up. I wondered how you all got subscriber under your avatar, I'm now in your gang. Cheers

I use Mozilla Firefox and Adblock Plus - and it looks like I run under the default style (2.0) without ANY of the aforementioned problems .... on the forum, at least. I do, quite often, get obnoxious notices telling me to switch off my adblocker or I won't be able to access some url or other ... usually a newspaper or web-based media site, so I ignore it and live without the temporary pleasure of whatever was at the end of that link! I don't have any log on/off problems, though. :)

I'm using style 2.0 as well, no issues.

Though one forum I use occasionally locks me out based on IP address, so rebooting the router usually sorts that. (it's a satellite up-link. No decent broadband here)

Well it's been 3 days now since I've been advert free, and I haven't had to re-log in. I tried switching to 1.4 mode but I didn't like it as much as the 2.0. Thanks for all your advice, The computer gave a sigh of relief seeing Mr Lumpy stay in the shed. :D
