Since buying my T100, I've been viewing a lot of video's from Stuart Fillingham, and one that caught my attention, or rather impulsiveness, was the one concerning items from Motone, and especially the gas cap. So, I got one. The polished one. Thought it'd look nice against the orange tank color. Gives the tank an old-timey look, and no more fiddling with the locking original

LeeRyd Yes looks pretty good. Easier for the tykes to syphon of your petrol though.
    Regards
    Joe.

I'm more concerned about the bike being stolen more than the fuel. But, most of the time, though, the bike's either between my legs or locked in the garage.

Just love that colour on the T100. I opted for Black on my Speed twin - didn't like the other options - it might even end up with your colour scheme one day:D

I’ve purchased several parts from the Motone line. Always quality stuff, and Stuart gives a pretty fair review of their products as well as a decent how to. I have a set of the Motone indicators to install so I may do a little write up on them.

Yes they DO look good. But in my area it would be GONE the first.time I parked it out in the open. I'm looking for a locking one for my America. :( ...J.D.

Good choice of fuel cap. Motone make quality stuff, they're not always the quickest to the market when a new model comes out but they're worth waiting for. I've got the same cap on my STwin but in black. I'd already swopped (just swopped, not swopped OUT) the nasty, cheap looking chrome original Triumph cap for a Monza item but saw the Motone item, so the Monza is on the shelf (anyone interested?)
Do people really syphon petrol out of bike tanks? I don't know anyone that's experienced this. Some of you must live in dodgy places :worried:

The ones that come for the bike come prepared. Kids with their little scramblers and trikes try to get some juice from petrol tanks. God I used to do it when I was younger. It was easier then as you could get a pipe into a car petrol tank.
    Regards
    Joe.

It's more like the little rascals will steal the cap just for amusement, only to throw it into a dumpster further down the road (yes they're that stupid). Not only would that leave you without a fuel cap, but also potentially with a fuel tank full of rain water (or whatever they'll find funny to throw into your tank).

I too changed my original non-locking one for the locking variety. Just be a bit careful where you park it!

You folks are starting to make me feel pretty paranoid about my purchase. Normally, I just go on day trips of 100 miles or less, then back into the garage. But, my son and I are taking a long trip this spring, from Ct. thru the mountains of Vermont, into Montreal Canada, then along the St. Lawrence river, back to New York, thru the Adirondack Mts., then home, about 1000 miles. I may just swap back the locking cap for this trip.

Sounds pretty shakey to have a bike in the U.K.

In the UK the population is compressed into our small island, so there is more likelihood that scumbags will want to have a go at your bike. I'm guessing it is the same in your cities mate....

Hmmm... Don't know what "safe as houses" means, but I remember hearing it on a song by Depeche Mode, years ago. Yeah, we have our troubles here in the States, too, but you can't let that get the best of you. Life and good health just ain't long enough.

Sheep stealing? Must make for some smiling miscreants!(?):scream:;)
