@Dozers Dad, found this photo from the Brighton Burn Up weekend. The UK's fastest MX5 (he had the trophies to prove it) 250bhp from a normally aspirated First Generation engine. This is not the hairdressers car you are looking for!
Off to Durham for a few days. Mrs CB ran me into the station in her MX-5 - quite fun really. Thankfully I wore a disguise so no one would recognise me, so no harm done to my manly reputation... Edit: I’ll save you the effort - “what manly reputation?!?”
My mates got an MX-5 for sale. Not the original engine, had a ford Scorpio V6 fitted!!! Reputedly putting out close to 300bhp!!! He's got 4 of them currently, so this one needs a new home. You fancy it @Dozers Dad ???
That is quite laughable really !!! 2.9 V6 and only 192bhp Can only tell you what I was told, but can't image it too difficult to get 300bhp from that lump
I also have a Mini. 2013 that i got 4 yrs ago. Great mpg, 1.6 and only 2400 lbs so pretty peppy. Just a local runabout so still only 33k on the clock. Nice thing is i do all the maintenance and have learned with youtube how to reset all the maintenance minders.
That's it 2019 season over. In numbers ;- 2 - Targa Rallies, 3 - Tar Autotests, 6 - 12 Car Navigation Rallies, 7 - Grass Autotests. We have won the semi-expert 12 Car title with 3 wins in class (novice winners last year). 1 Tar test class win. Grace finished 2nd in ladies championship and 7th overall in the club championship. I got 4th overall in the club championship. Quite pleased with that for my first full year competing in the Mini. Missed out on 3rd place by 4 points (102 to 106 points), but gives me a goal for next year. Thanks for all the encouragement over the year, and 2020 season starts in February. Just need to get the Mini fixed by then ( power steering pump, again).
Utterly praiseworthy achievements by both Grace and you! Grace's 2nd place is a truly fantastic achievement and what a way to target the top spot!
Nice wee haul at tonight's awards. Wee cup for class win at a tar test, big trophy and glass for semi-expert 12 car championship and the best one is the smaller cup - got it for top Marshall in the club, elected by chief Marshall for our work this year. At dinner dance now, pissed
