Wow, phred. It's hard to even know what to say. And I know it sounds trite to say this but I truly mean it. Hang in there. As Duck said, I really hope that your wife--and you--get the help and support that you need.
Meanwhile in the UK ? This is just one of the ideas being proposed by other countries https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL2001/S00002/finnish-pm-calls-for-a-4-day-week-and-6-hour-day.htm
The lunatic Labour Party were proposing a similar (and compulary) prior to the general election. If it were implemented then people would have been even more worse off, as they would have a cap on ther weekly earning potential and even with Labours proposed minimum wage of £10 p/h anyone on minimum wage would still be worse off.
Wow, if the weather wasn't so crummy in Scandinavia I just might consider moving to Finland! Depending on the U.S. presidential election outcome in November, I just might move there in spite of the weather. There or maybe Costa Rica.
A newsfeed message popped up on my phone this morning. Normally I would have ignored it, but I was waiting for my wife to get ready to go out, and was beginning to get bored, so clicked on the Daily Express shock-horror news item. Apparently "viewers were left in shock", when One Show presenter "Patrick Kielty stormed off set live on air, while Alex begged for help". I read on... and then, getting slightly curious about this dreadful, shocking incident, I clicked on the video which, in still, showed a blurred, possibly angry Patrick Kielty rising out of his seat to "storm off set". But no such thing had actually happened! The video shows Patrick welcome back his fellow presenter, Alex (she had given birth last year). Alex says she is very nervous and looking to him for support and guidance during the show. Patrick reassures Alex that she'll be fine. Alex says something else about how she's relying on him, and while both are laughing, Patrick makes a very brief pretence of leaving his seat, while saying, "I'll leave you to it then" (or words to that effect) before sitting back down. Now this is a very minor, non-news story about nothing in an online newspaper, whose hard-copy I might buy if brexit causes a UK-wide shortage of toilet paper and I'm really desperate. The same story was also repeated by the Mail, I see. What makes me very angry is that the headline and text totally misrepresented the truth about a non incident. No viewers were shocked, no storming off set occurred, no one was left begging for help. But if I hadn't looked at the video, I would have been left with the impression that the One Show had collapsed in disarray last night (not that I'd care about that, I seldom ever watch it). My problem is, what else, more important, are these unworthy peddlers of shite and lies trying to mislead folks about?
And that, my friend, is why it is called The Daily Excess. By the way it also specialises in apocalyptic weather stories that never materialise.
These two are the evil bastards who threw the poor dog in the water, and the brave woman who pulled it from the river.
The evilness of some people is horrendous , the bastards ought to be waterboarded first before spending a lengthy time in prison, where hopefully there will be some inmates who are dog lovers.
Those two are on the lower rung of the gene pool, its swine's like these that need naming and shaming Karma will then take over
It's being treated at the Vets. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-farndon-nottinghamshire-police-a9272561.html
That picture of them and there names should be on the front cover of every newspaper so everyone knows what they are, but as usual the tax payer would probably end up protecting them,
That's good to know, being an old fart I don't do farcebook or other type of stuff, but that should start some abuse in their direction
