Just finishing a couple of Sol’s I had in the house for the new year party... it’s a bit pisslike, but I can’t bring myself to throw it away and I’m on the bike tomorrow...

"Pisslike". Hmm, that's sort of like wine reviews I've read that talk of of notes of "barnyard and asphalt", DCS. :p Life's too short to drink bad (especially piss-like) beer! ;)

Yeah, maybe... but larger drinkers are meant to like the stuff... supposed to be half decent but I think I’ve too many years of bitters, rubys, stouts, ipa and porters in my system. I have had a “craft” lager that I recall liking, but can’t remember whose... probably a Brewdog limited run.

Oh well, onto the coffee this morning, a couple of mugs of Union’s Yirgacheffe to get the noggin sparking up alright.

I'm with you on the IPA's, stouts, and porters, DCS. I can live with lagers but can't stomach sours. I'm on the coffee at the moment, too. It's 7:20am Arizona time--I'd better be on the coffee! ;)

I prefer Guinness, but a bottle of Sol from the fridge on a hot day is absolute heaven.

Just sampling the stock Aldi gin at £14.99 for a litre bottle.
Two fingers of gin, two fingers of Aldi low sugar tonic water, two ice cubes and a thick slice of lime. Going down very nicely thank you very much and easy on the wallet.

Pretty tasty, but I’m gonna have to finish off the night with a large Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila

@andypandy, here's a trick I learned years ago. Leave out some tonic water until it goes flat. Freeze it in an ice cube tray. Use these tonic cubes in your gin and tonic in place of regular ice cubes. Sounds simple but makes quite a difference in terms of a delicious gin and tonic experience! :yum:) BTW, my favorite gin for a G & T is Plymouth.

A lovely aged ale from my son-in-law. Having a sample, as I watch the snow pile up over the ice we had last night. Oye... Miles Davis on the box, so all is well.

Lovely! There's a Trader Joe's a half a mile down the path from us so I'll have to look for that spiced ale, Hobnail. And I have Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" CD in the cupboard--your post reminded me to take it out and give it a listen again. :) Cheers!
