I just finished reading a piece on another site. A guy was restoring a '95 Sprint like the one I own. He said he was told by Triumph that only 1585 Sprints were built worldwide that year. Does anyone have production numbers on these bikes, and other early T-3's ? ...J.D. MINE:
Thanks Biglad: I have owned it 17 years, but have only seen one other. Apparently there are not too many of these in my part of the world. I'm sure there must be some around somewhere. I have also been told.that 1995 was the first year Triumph returned to the U.S. market after.the reorganization. I have 2 T-3's. I have seen a number of T-Bird 900's here, a couple of Daytona.Super III's, but none of the other early models. Just wondering how many were produced in those early years. ...J.D.
Mine was sold.new here in California by South Bay Triumph to the guy I bought it from. It has the black GIVI rack with removable bags and top case. Like a lot of the bikes you see here it is not a California Spec. version, but a Fed. Spec bike. There is no smog inspection for.bikes in California even today, so I guess the dealer sold whatever they wanted to. I have another Triumph that was originally sold in San Diego, Ca. and it is also a Fed.Spec. bike. ...J.D.
I fear that we may never know the answer to you question, WW. A major fire at the factory several years ago destroyed most of the records, I do believe, so It may well be 'anyone's guess'! Hopefully the records survived on a computer somewhere and therefore someone does know. But if they told us, they'd probably have to kill us. Sigh!
Yeh I was in to Triumphs when that happened. I believe one of my other bikes had to be one of the last ones out, or survived the fire. It is a 2002. Maybe it was already in the shipping pipeline. Who knows ? ...J.D.
Nice bikes Peter. The one I pictured above is currently in my shop getting some minor fixes. Parts are on order. Hope to have it back together soon. They are a bit rare here, I think partly due to the fact they were not sold in the U.S. until the 1995 model year. Triumph had to completely reestablish themselves in the market here.
