Im having a puzzling issue with the indicators on the trident. I have fitted new metal body indicators all round initially after fitting they all worked fine, recently they have started all flashing at the same time no matter which switch i use to activate them. I have replaced the flasher unit so in know that is fine.
Having a fiddle I have managed to narrowed it down, if i disconnect the front left indicator then the other 3 work perfectly, if i take the indicator off the bike and plug it in they all work perfectly, as soon as I touch the indicators attachment screw to the mounting then the fault re appears.
Could this be a problem with the indicator itself or an earthing issue further down the line?

Visually the indicator itself is fine and exactly the same as the others, i cant see any exposed wires and it does work so the bulb is ok.

and help narrowing this down would be really helpful.

    Thanks

There may be an issue inside that indicator housing. A bridge in the globe or short in the power wire , shorting to earth ?

Yes you may need to run separate earths from the indicators to the bike. Should get away by earthing both rears.
    Happy Christmas.

I had a similar issue on my Bonneville, and it turned out to be a short/fault in the cable within the indicator, swapped the cable and problem resolved.

Edit: Sorry I just remembered it was due to a fault with the indicator connector cable within the headlight, as in the picture below. It had been working fine for a few weeks and then started playing up, swaped the cable and sorted.

Sounds like a short as in the pre flasher unit wiring IE switch to flasher relay, as its affecting in the same way as using a hazard switch.

Fantastic. You know sometimes it simple things that confuse us so much. But I am glad you sorted it.
    Happy New Year.
