ffs far worse was said on the Brexit thread by EVERYONE. DD is a character. Everyone in here is different - a character of their own. In this situation DD repeated almost verbatim (by paraphrasing slightly) what the authorities have said themselves - that the offences were predominantly attributable to a limited cultural segment of the community. It was the fear of appearing anti-diversity and inclusive that lead to the lack of earlier action against the accused - despite previous concerns... Ive seen a similar situation myself. A bunch of white middle class well educated folks move to California. They grouped together as a tribe. Moral and cultural support etc. The difference was their crimes were to arrange a smuggling syndicate to get Marmite, hobnobs and HP sauce over the boarders - and have associates with whom they could complain about the bloody Americans. Free DD
What I like on this forum is that all, no matter from which walk of life, can participate. In banter, technical queries, or whatever. If you do not like a thread (I tend to stay away from the brexit one), just skip it. But complaining about someone's opinion to mods just because you don't like it is just a bit childish to me.
Had to so more research on Yankee, here is what I found To foreigners, a Yankee is an American. To Americans, a Yankee is a Northerner. To Northerners, a Yankee is an Easterner. To Easterners, a Yankee is a New Englander. To New Englanders, a Yankee is a Vermonter. And in Vermont, a Yankee is somebody who eats pie for breakfast shiver me timbers I think Bad Billy is a closet Yankee
By heck it is a funny old world when one of our members is banned from a thread for his views. hey ho....
As someone who has no opinion on anything at all; like policemen and referees. someone has to be in a position to say what is right/acceptable and wrong/ not acceptable. Without a moderator/admin/ MrO the site is in danger of being as "shite" as twitter/Faceache. So if he makes a decision rightly or wrongly players need to abide by it or anarchy reigns? And I like DD
I don't want to comment on what DD said or didn't say. But I was just about to say something similar - referee/admin/moderator decision final and should be accepted.
Just read this on line... some sick lowlife getting his kicks from baiting a grieving man because he is gay... (or maybe because he is relatively famous) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-50854600

I don't want to stir up a hornets nest here but I'd just like to point out that some religious people have very strong opinions against homosexuality. I'm not religious myself but I believe they quote a line from the bible something along the lines of "man lying with man is abhorrent to God". I'm not condoning taunting, just pointing out how people form different opinions and they think they are as right as you do.
I agree and understand where you’re coming from... but to bait a grieving person... its nauseating! If I form a different opinion to you, i might tell you so... may even get into an argument... but i wouldn’t seek you out following the news of you losing the person you love and harass you over it!
So having a mince pie for breakfast makes me a closet Yankee ... I don't think so! I am an Englishman through and through ... well apart from the Norman/Viking/Roman DNA that is!
There are significant number of sick people in this world and us in the main stream will never understand them. We Just have to get over it and move on.
It seems to me the Bible is a guide to life, for people who wish to follow it, personally. If you play football then you follow the rules as best you can and with all good intentions. If you follow the bible you do the same. You shouldnt go about trying to make people play Football if they dont want to, or telling people its a great game, and judging them by the rules of football, if they dont want to hear it. If some one says "What makes you happy?" Then I think its ok to say I like football.. As far as I can see you spread the word by saying "Look this is great for me, I recommend it" What you dont do is run around condemning and insulting people. For not doing what you think is correct.Or not liking football.
Glad to see that position is not a Get out of Jail Free Card. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-50870459
