Where can I get a power feed on my 765R that is switched by the ignition key? My new Garmin is currently going straight off the battery, but not ideal as it stays powered when the bike is off.

Positive wire to one of the position lights in the headlight? Tail light? Some have used the feed to the horn, my choice was the position (sidelight) light. Does it need 12v or 5v? If it’s 5v then you may need to fit an appropriate gadget to deal with that.

So I got some of those connectors and when I connected to the horn I don't get power unless I am pushing the horn button... which makes sense otherwise the hor would be beeping constantly, but it isn't very useful as a power supply. I could use it as a negative off the other side of the horn, but that doesn't sort a live feed. Can you show me how you have connected yours to get a live feed please @crispey or anyone else who has sorted this? :)

@Hippo-Drones, Ok matey, this should clear it up! Hopefully!! I think the problem is I was using live and earth terminology, for the horn, which is totally wrong in this situ. It should be the live, red, of the sat mount attaches to the horn wire that is connected to the ignition switch, in my case ,tiger 800, the blue and black cable via the piggy back connector. Then the neg , black, from the mount goes to frame, I’ve connected it to where the horn bracket bolt screws in.

So I guess you have the red connected to the horn switch cable. Obviously your horn cables might be different colours. I remember when I first tried setting this up I would get the horn staying on or only
Powering up when the horn was pressed, good luck!

Thanks @crispey I am still not sure how you can be getting power to the satnav from this setup as the horn itself does not have any power unless the button is pressed?

So why not make it easy for yourself and use the positive lead to the side light in the headlamp, the yellow one if memory serves (was on my speed triple anyway) then earth where you want, I used the battery neg terminal.

Power is supplied when ignition is on and circuit completed when horn button is pressed.its just connecting 2 wires in the proper order. It’s dark dark magic. But it works! But give @Yorkshireman s way a go.
