    Well pictures time IMG_20191201_070353.jpg

Steve and his 16 yr old son.
Us about to leave , just after 7am IMG_20191201_082242.jpg Optus Stadium in Perth , the form Up .. Starting point. IMG_20191201_101153.jpg just some of the many hundreds of bike's at the Oval in Joondalup in Northern suburb's of Perth. Ride went for 20 odd klms up the freeway.
I believe there were around 700 bikes this year. IMG_20191201_101130.jpg proof we made it ! We parked on the right hand side of of the oval , the third picture is of the oval from where I parked.
Ride was easy , well organised , but as usual , there were a few who can't follow simple safe riding rules for the good of all , At least no accidents this year !! Usually there is at least one minor spill.

    Cheers capt

What’s at Privett? Looks pretty, but so small it has to share its one horse with the neighbouring town...

    Enjoy!

I might head out too if the boss doesn’t have any other tasks for me...

I was asked to do some ironing yesterday but ‘accidentally’ left them with more creases than the clothes started with.

Hopefully I won’t get asked again.

The technique I feel is to get it wrong just enough to be rubbish, but not too much so she knows it was deliberate....

Very cold here in Cheshire today. On grandson duty at rugby this morning. Thought it might be cancelled because of the weather, but no such luck. Don’t think I will get a ride today..

I got out then the bike broke down again ffs, seems to be the same problem as both times before, wtf sort of service is this, 120 miles between breakdowns.
Maybe time to go back to Japanese bikes!

After close to 6 weeks non use , I pulled my America out of the shed. Took the Headlight apart and off , to get to the wiring harness inside. Looking for the reason it was cutting out ... Found the cause , looking like a faulty wire to pin fitment from new !! That has reared its ugly head after 9 1/2 years. The power wire to the kill switch was the culprit. The clamping on the base of the pin wasn't done properly ! IMG_20191202_105403.jpg
The blue cable tie is pushed in to the offending connection , the green wire just above the plug housing was in its dock next to the cable tie , it's OK , the offending pin and wire wouldn't come out ! :( . So wire's are now cut and soldered . Temporary fix to assess that I have found the true fault.
    1575272479309336082632.jpg 1575272532900160770742.jpg
Soldered wire will be wrapped. The position just below blue cable tie shows pin that's at fault ! The out crimping wasn't done ! So the wire wasn't held properly by the plastic encasing , so the wire flexed at the pin connector and broke.
Compare the top of the black wire and how the pin was crimped , and how the pin is open where the green wire Fell out !!!!

I finally got around to covering the thruxton in FS365, then fitted the optimiser cable before putting in back in its bubble. Still not rode the dam thing as the roads at the moment are just shite. And to top it all I've not been able to get on the tiger either. One bit of good new is that my satnav and panniers will arrive shortly and will be fitted on the tiger on the 17th December. I'm hoping to complete the 500 miles by then so I can get the first service done on the same day.

That probably will be related to opposite weather patterns ! Yours WET WET WET and Mine DRY as $&%#$@ . So there is little chance of serious dirt building into mud castle's.

I've owned my bike from new , and ridden in rain probably 6 times ( weather forecasters seldom wrong) and likely it's only been seriously washed a couple of dozen times ! So little chance of serious dirt ingress and build up in to mud castle's.

There was a lot more surface rust inside the nacelle than I expected ! But again as weather is so dry here it was only heavy surface rust. The mounting plates go through slots in the back/underside which means there are three opening's. 1575330966132592734897.jpg

That's ten years of weather related corrosion !!

    cheers capt

Put the Dayt all back together - winter jobs done :)

But it's not even Christmas yet! mate suggested greasing swing arm while it's laid up but that looks like a lot of work.

Weather looking OK at weekend so might change my plan to lay it up till April and take it out - gotta check it is all working alright, ain't I? ;-)

    So it starts...
Removed the lit up plate holder. Followed the wires into the loom. Snipped, insulated & secured them. Installed the simple TAX plate.
Found a rats nest under the left side cover, looks to be about the Piaa lites. Will check it out when I remove the trickle charger stuff {don't believe in them}.
    No BoosterPlug.
    New, dealer installed Avon's.

Spent sum $$$... BoosterPlug, Tec springs & X-pipe along with a set of Norman Hyde's.

Looking to remove weight, with performance increases as a bonus. The center stand may go.

Changing the gearing also... 16 & 39 should do the job.

Did take her out - all worked a treat :)

Obviously needed to check fueling across the rev range so learnt hits limiter at 70+ in 1st :)

Suspect it 100+ in 2nd, but I didn't test that, oh no officer ;-)

1st ride on my 08 1050 speed triple. Roads covered in mud, but been waiting ages for a quick blat just to see what its like. Decent enough power for a naked, and a lovely burble on the over run! Didnt really get to hammer the brakes or throttle thou due to the awful roads. Tank brimmed now with fuel stabilizer added, a Good coat of acf50, and up on paddock stands. Ready for the next decent roads day :)
