Received my renewal quote from Bennetts - Gordon Bennett - it's gone up and some!

Insurance & meerkat comparison websites don't seem to cope with multi-bike (two) comparisons. I'm sure gathering the information about multiple bikes would be easy, but I suspect getting the quotes from the insurance companies is technically too difficult.

Any-hoo, I'll phone around to get some quotes, and see if I can use the ammo to knock down Bennetts (I quite like them apart from their latest renewal quote), or I might jump ship and go with a cheaper quote.

Any recommendations for two-bike insurance welcome.

    Thanks, Jock.

Cheers! My car was insured with them for a few years, and they did offer a good service. Hadn't thought of them for the bikes. Good one.

I’ve usually found multi bike policies a bit of a rip off. You can only use your NCB on one bike anyway, so I’ve found the best solution for me has been companies who will mirror my NCB across two policies. I’m currently with Bennetts who worked out cheapest doing it this way.
As always though, insurance is a complete minefield and what works for one person won’t for another.
The only constant is that they’re all a bunch of thieving tw@ts. :p

I've insured my bikes for a while now on dual bike policies, currently with Hasting Direct, but have used other companies. As far as I'm aware my NCB has been applied across the whole policy? It has always worked out more expensive for me to insure the bikes separately ...

It’s not a dual bike policy I have, it’s two separate ones but Bennetts have mirrored the NCB so that I can use it across the two policies they have brokered for me.
I don’t know how they did it but the two policies started at different times and when I started the second one they said that’s what they’d do.

Sounds like you got a good deal. Last time I tried to insure by bikes on separate policies the insurance company would only let me use my NCB on one bike. The result was a very expensive second policy with no NCB..

That BeMoto looks good. I'll call them first on Monday and use them as a benchmark.

I'll let y'all know who I go with. Cheers.

Never found multi bike policy’s of value. I just got a third party fire and theft on one of my classicbikes only £33 and that’s with zero ncd!! Add that to my others and it’s still mega cheap

I'm not a dedicated deal hunter, like some, so after going through the whole process with BeMoto, and their price being way less than I've paid for a very long time, I went with them.

What seemed to help with them is that I've had both my bikes for a long time (Tiger 800 4 years, R1200S almost 8). They also told me what each bike was costing in the deal - R1200S £60, Tiger £200 because that's my main bike - but same mileage allowed on both.

The price comes with RAC recovery, protected NCB and European travel.

Maybe Hastings could have beaten the price, but after a chunk of this sunny morning on the phone and waiting for a call back, saving £155 off my renewal quote and £50 off last year's price will do me.

Have a 6-wheel policy with Carol Nash which covers car and both bikes.

Hunted around last year when it came to renewal but couldn't find anything cheaper once the built in breakdown recovery was factored in.

Always found them helpful but never needed to make a claim so can't comment on that side of things.

Has your car only got two wheels then or are your bikes unicycles? :p

Been with them quite a while now and at least once I've had a surprisingly high renewal and have had to ring them up and have a fit with them.

Clearly that keeps them sweet for a bit at least as this year I couldn't find cheaper :)

Will check BeMoto next time I come up for renewal though - thanks for the tip!
