Just purchased myself a super cool 92 plate Trident. Need to buy some Trident 900 decals to go on the side panels - anyone know where I can buy them?
First things first -WELCOME on board! '92 Tridents are always cool .... in green, of course! However, to prove it we need to see the evidence in pictorial form. One of the best starting places for spares for the early Hinckley 'bikes is Sprint Manufacturing https://www.triumphparts.co.uk/ If they don't have what you want Trevor is often able to advise on a source. I've also bought stuff from these people http://www.triumphhinckleyparts.co.uk/ in the past and it has been pretty much what I expected, albeit at a price. Hiya photos of the new bike as promised. She's got 40k on the clock but looks like She has been well taken care of with lots of replacement bits. Current battery seems strong but have got her permamently connected to an optimiser just to make sure. Seriously pleased with the purchase and after owning some 13 different bikes over a 30 year period, the Trident is right up there as one of the most thrilling rides I've had. Scouring the net now to get some bits ie chrome headlamp outer ring, grab rail (so my 12 year old can come for a spin) and rear hugger. The replacement Delkevic end cans are seriously loud and although not stamped as being illegal. Let's see whether I get stopped! So much fun and glad to be riding a part of British Motorcyling's legacy.
If you want that engine to look like new ?? Then armorall is your friend ! Give the engine a really good wash , any way you can ! Pressure wash is OK , just be careful you don't lift any paint. When dry use armor all paint brush it in/on , it will glow like new and , when you use the bike - let it cool after use until warm to the touch them hose or wash with weak detergent and you'll be amazed how easily it "scrubs up" Had a 94 Trident. Used the above trick for 6 years , 160,000 klms and engine looked like new !!!
