That's a good start on the rewards, DD, but I'm thinking ya gotta up the ante significantly. Oh, and transportation expenses from the U.S. would need to be part of the deal.
I don't agree with Joe on the Aussie flag being almost visible at the bottom , but I did hear some suspicious tapping and knocking sounds under my house a few days back ?? Was this you demonstrating your well educated abilities on Knowing When To Stop The Digging Cheers capt. An Antipodean in the land down under DD's Garage
I could have put feeder pipe through to your "PIT" but didn't know if you wanted big fat breakfast sausage's or slimmer salt and fat reduced ! Steak's can be rolled up tightly enough to squeeze through ! Salads can be diced (either meaning , diced with knife or Binned ((diced)) ) bread buns or sliced wouldn't be much good if Crushed to fit On another note glad you didn't FALL through , hard to explain to customs , the lack of an Entry Visa !!!
Well the Visa would come into question when you get pulled over when riding ! I have two Triumphs , and we'd have to ride ! No pictures no proof you'd been successful in escaping Blighty !!
I agree, although I’m no expert on Poetry - not being cultured like you. Indeed I wouldn’t recognise poetry if it bit me on the arse. Oh no, that’s dogs... News flash - My youngest has been selected to be flag bearer for the Scouts at the memorial tomorrow.
DD you must be a patient man, seven days start erecting lift. Hell i have seen a 60 ton lift capacity crane on a 4" slab picking up a 32,000 lb beam 7 days after pour. https://www.cement.org/learn/concrete-technology/concrete-construction/curing-in-construction
As an engineer, rest assured any advice given is already a conservative and safe number. I feel your pain with mates that promise to return one of your many favors by assisting you in your time of need, only to be reassigned by his ungrateful wife unit.
Worst case soil bearing capacity is normaly about 1000 lbs/square foot, unless it's floating on a peat moss bog. Depth is important to keep it below the local frost line, to keep it from heaving up due to subsurface Ice formations. Have you over engineered it, i would say no, as a two post lift that is somewhat not directly connected to your existing thin concrete pad on one side. The reason i say this is few vehicles you will be lifting have a 50/50 weight distribution, and will produce an eccentric load condition not favorable to two post lift foundations. I may suggest you get some non shrink grout to go under the plate that goes from one side to the other. Must have if you have to shim up a base plate to get frame level. Available at most big box stores for at very little additional cost over bagged cement. PM me if you have any other concerns. My freaking smart phone keeps changing my wording.
