Thanks Sandi for this one too. Having just had a look on Amazon, there is surprisingly few books on bike suspension so I've ordered a secondhand copy.

I've yet to read the book, SpeedTwin, but it has made it to the top of my list. I'm eager to crack it open and get going on it. Let me know what you think of the book!

Précis please? I’d like to know a bit about setting up the suspension - mines been left as factory default so have no idea if it could be better/worse!

Nice MC run up both coasts to a small town pizzeria. Good turn out for beautiful weather and good mix of road conditions for 300km round trip.

Took the speed twin into local dealers to get the gear selector replaced, following it shearing off on my Yorkshire trip with @andypandy. Hardly had a chance to get a brew. Only took 10 mins and back on the road.. we will have to see how long this one will last?

    doing some research
today as my msoffice was playing up and found this

checking my vin plate, as my bonny has model code 910 as the code, according to the attached doc shown previously in post \8, it is actually a bonneville t100 and not a bonneville, though is all respects it seems to be a bonneville.

rather annoyingly I argued with the insurers that it was just a 2007 bonny and not a bonny t100 as they had it on their system

From what many of my riding buddies have told me, Cyborgbot, particularly the engineers in the bunch, suspension can pretty much ALWAYS be better. :p (Seems a bit like a rabbit hole....) My understanding is also that most manufacturers set up stock suspension for riders who are about 170 pounds because that's "average". That means it's not set up for most. Will keep ya posted.

Started getting NUDGER ready for his journey to the adoption centre (Newcastle Triumph):sob:
Have removed the tow bar :)
Put back the grab rail :)
    Refitted the pillion footrests:)
    Refitted original seats:)
Still got plenty to do before he’s back to standard
But it’s tea time and then I’m gonna watch the footy :p

Plans are to get it fully road ready , Reasonable condition for it's age , new tyres F & B , new chain , runs really well ! Tyres were Flat And I mean FLAT !! F 17 psi R 12 psi ! ! ! Was Sooo hard to ride , wouldn't corner at all well.;) , Now sorting out light's going LED options were possible . Will be inspect then repair and adjusting , repeat on next system , doing carburettor and fueling next after lights.

My next objective is pull the America off the road for a while and do some overdue maintenance and repair .
The America is a keeper , the Sprint will go to a good home when My America is Done.

Sprint has 93,000 klms on the odometer. Been owned by one careful owner last 12/14 years with good service history. So I'm happy with it and price was ok $2,500 when they can attract $4,500 plus :) :)

Interesting that no shop will help with sag setup, Phred. I wonder if something happened in your neck of the woods or if the lawyers got to the dealerships. Thanks for the link to the sag tool. Could come in handy.
