I’ve just hit 6248 km’s on my bike and the supercorsa’s are still hanging in there. See photos of rear tire below. Yes the rear tire has worn down into the wear bars and the front is getting close, but the mileage has surpassed what I would have thought they could deliver by a massive amount. I ride these tires pretty hard on almost every outing. Where I live it’s about 60-80 km’s of highway riding to get to the twistys. Rear tire traction is still delivering at full throttle leaned over on corner exit, and the front is standing up to high speed braking into a corner where I’m really leaning on it through the corner. The roads here are in good condition for the most part so I’m sure that helps out the mileage, but that’s still pretty impressive mileage for a supercorsa. I’m curious to what others are getting out of the supercorsa’s.

Got close to that when my 2015 94R was new - managed just over 3,000mls. On second set of Metzeler M7RR's now, first set lasted about 6,000mls. IMO they're better in the wet/cold and just as good for dry road use (still give the fast turn-in of the SC's), think you'd have to be faster than me (not difficult) to make use of any extra grip the SC's might have. Only comment is as they wear you can see a line where the dual compound changes, can't feel it though.

Hi Steve - I’m kind of surprised at my Supercorsas as well. Currently 4,000km and still looking good. The rear was starting to square a little due to some upright riding in Singapore, but 500km in Malaysia last weekend sorted that nicely.

My tyres always seem to wear faster as they get closer to the end of their life, so I’m wondering if they will suddenly look worn, but so far I am surprised.

Col_C - I think I might go for the M7RRs next. Am hoping that they will handle the broken surfaces I ride on. Also hoping they might take the edge of the ride just a little. I’m assuming you’d recommend them if you are on your second set?

tcbandituk - I would have to up my commitment level to see that wear pattern!! Can’t do that in Malaysia, too many monkeys (and other hazards) waiting to catch me out. Might have to do a track day at Sepang next year, which I’m sure would be a giggle on the RS.

Is that from road use or track?
Very impressive if it’s all road use

I find it pretty hard to wear to the edge on road, have some small unworn strips and at 2900 miles the original rear tyre is starting to square off quite a bit.

    That was from track use

You can still get it fairly well over on the road though.....

That’s pretty good for the M7RR’s. Good to hear they handle well in the dry as well as the wet. At this point I’m liking those and the S22’s.

Yes, I'd recommend (on wife's Street Triple too). Perhaps second best if you're a track hound but ideal for road use IMO. I think they sit between a full-on sport tyre and sport-touring.

Mine lasted 3500miles including running in. But the bike gets unstable when getting low on rear so not as worn as yours SteveRS . Had the new Rosso Corsa 2s and they seemed good apart from the two compounds wearing differently and giving a visible step on the tyre.. the M7RR rear I got after a tyre supplier error.. grip very good price better than Pirelli but feels a little unstable now at about half worn. Not like it would shake you off but not like it's on rails with new pirellis ..

I got 4K out of my first rear, 2700 of that was touring Spain but a lot of twisties included and was very spirited.

Warning, and this happened to me. The rear looked worn but ok (in fact I’d already ordered a new rear) when I went for a day trip out. 50 miles in the cord was showing through and resulted in me getting a tow truck home. It literally went from looking fine to absolutely shot in those miles

unfortunately a non repairable puncture after 200 miles on my new rear has put an end to my riding this season, I’ll probably replace both with Bridgestone S22’s next season as my mate has them on his S1000R and rates them.

I'm at a little over 5k miles on my originals. I've never tracked it though and there isn't too many twisties around me, so mostly commuting. The rear is getting pretty squared off.

Just went for a ride today and hit 6790 km’s. The supercorsa is still hanging in there. The rear is starting to get cupped, meaning it wearing down more between the centre and outer edge. Tomorrow is the last ride of the year, so will probably put another 200 or so km’s on her.

Should also mention that on some wet surfaces the rear was pretty squirrley and would step out with ease in road TC. Temperatures were between 11 and 15 degrees celsius.

Seems crazy to still be riding on a shagged lethal tyre ! Cost to change is a lot less than cost of bike repair :p

Well, if it wasn’t the end of the season I would change them out. Honestly it only been the last few rides that have taken their toll on the rear. Lol just reread the last sentence :joy:.

I think it’s now turned into a Seinfeld episode. Remember when Kramer was test driving a car and was running out of gas and wouldn’t stop. He and the salesman had to see how far they can go before they actually ran out of gas. This rear tire has turned into the same thing. I’m going for my last ride today, and I may just keep going until the tire shreds. I’m at 6790, come on it’ll go at least 10,000 km’s right? :worried::joy::weary_face:
