Is anyone doing one of these this year on 27 September to raise money for prostate cancer research? Check out the website at http://www.gentlemansride.com/ for information - it's sponsored by Triumph. Did the Bournemouth one last year on the Bonneville and it was a fantastic day. Many Bonnevilles, Thruxtons and Scramblers plus Meriden Bonnies, BSAs and Nortons. Also a good selection of Guzzis, cafe racer BMWs and Hondas. Around 70 riders took part - some with sidecars and all of us dressed as "dapper" gents. Smart suit, open face helmets, facial hair and pipes are the order of the day! Join a ride near you and thoroughly enjoy it.
Hi Steve, I'm taking part over here, in Lyon - complete with Bergundy blaser, horn-rimmed glasses and pipe plus of course plenty of facial hair.
Excellent! Just found out that this years Bournemouth ride will run from Poole Quay to Boscombe Pier then on to Highcliffe Castle and will finish up at the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum.
hoping to if the big W doesn't get in the way. started growing the facials but me missus gave me an ultimatum, the beard came off!! Not sure which area I will do though. I dont know if you can change locations once you register and it doesn't seem as though you can look at the details until you register!
Distinguished...gentleman...It'll have to be a good disguise big fella Is there one fer old school Rockers? Oh of course, I'm doing that Ace Cafe little thing to Brighton heh heh heh Have a good day gents, hope to see lots pics of flat tankers and wicker chair jobbies
Robin, i'm not allowed either due to the Speedy - last year was fine but seems to have got a bit more serious this year-guess i'll be giving it a miss then!
Hope you can make it to one - I think you are right in that you have to register on a ride first to get the details. Tried growing facial hair last year - the girlie put up with it for just over a week and then told me I looked like a down and out! Bought a false moustache this time.
