BonnieCat Its a lovely little machine and will last you for years to come. Tell me what does the engine sound like can you tell its a triple. Regards Joe.
The new Fiesta ST is a 3 cyl turbo unit putting out 197bhp. Admittedly it is a larger 1.5 unit, but that is still a relatively small engine. Mountune will screw even more horses out of it straight from the dealer. Keep meaning to go have a shot in one, but won't be replacing my 2500cc 5-pot turbo anytime soon. As the yanks say 'there is no substitute for cubic inches'
Jo, it’s a bit growly when you set off but then it’s not noticeable. It doesn’t sound like a triple really, unlike the Matiz. I like it’s quirkinesses and it’s a doddle to park. Even without parking sensors and cameras my BMW X1 has I find it easier and can park relatively straight. I’ve got one more week with the Beemer and then that’s it. I’m hoping the campervan fits in my drive
I really wanted a 40 ft motorcoach for added stability in crosswinds, but they were rare. So i settled on a 36 ft. Got the 36 home and i can just barely squeeze it into the driveway with one dual tire hanging over the ditch and scraping out a 18x24" section of the neighbors across the street lawn. Did not see that coming.
My 2008 1.8 TDi Mondeo has 234k km on it. It has had an oil change every 8K-9K km (on my driveway) with the right specification oil, a part synthetic, and everything is original bar one injector. 50K miles is nothing, happy motoring.
Hi Nikki, a bit late to this thread. Are you aware that here are certain rules which allow you to only pay a quarter of the road tax on a camper van? Have a look here. If you need any help, I'll be glad to. I reckon you'd probably pay around € 50 a month.
No problem at all, Nikki. There's a request to make (just a form to fill in) and I think you have to submit photo's of the vehicle. As far as I can tell the vehicle complies with all the requirements.
Yep I just looked at the form and it actually doesn’t look too difficult. I’ll fill it in and send them some photos.
Picked up my new-to-me seven month old Focus today - it has the new 1.5 three cylinder Ecoboost unit in 150 horse guise. We'll see how it compares over time to the 1.6 four cylinder Ecoboost 150 in the 2011 car I traded in. Same car and trim but eight years younger and one pot less. Sounds less stressed than the 1.0 3-cyl 125 I tried once which did not have enough torque for the hills of High Wycombe. My 1.5 just romps up them with no issue, and the new 8-speed slushbox is really nice too. Hope you're enjoying your new car as much as I am enjoying mine BC.
