So announced yesterday, The Who are doing a limited tour next March/April. Tickets released next week. https://www.livenation.co.uk/artist/the-who-tickets Not heard these chaps live so already told the Mrs that the credit card is getting a beating next week.
Saw them when Keith Moon* was still alive, and Entwistle of course. Brilliant concert and, if memory serves, first public performance of one of my favourites, Won't Get Fooled Again. Couldn't seem to get car started afterwards. Nothing when I turned key... ...until I realised I was too deaf to hear it was running. A friend saw them a couple of years ago and recons they are still as good. *I wonder what became of the guy who stood in for KM during a concert, when he (Keith) passed out. Edit: Thomas Scot Halpin - I looked it up. Sadly, he died in 2008.
I believe they used to use Zack Starkey (Ringo’s son), who is a mighty fine drummer, but that was a while ago.
I just looked at the price of a ticket at the Manchester gig and they wanted £250. Far too spicy for me that price.
Ouch! They'll have to remain a memory for me then. I didn't pay that much for the Stones last year. They were brilliant - way better than expected.
