    Hi,
I am a new owner of a 2018 Speedmaster and just wanted to say hi. There is a lot of things I need to learn about this bike and its maintenance. I feel like the dealership just want you to spend money and have them do everything. I would like to save money and do my own work if possible. The first thing I want to do is change the handlebars to higher rise and pullback. I may be able to do this without extending cables but it involves removing the upper yoke to re-route cables. Does anyone have some experience with this procedure? Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi BonnieRed and welcome to the forum . You have about 40mm play in the cables and this requires removing the rubber straps from the bars and loosen the cable clamp on left bank to free some more.
To raise and pullback the bars, many guys add an extension under the existing bar.
    I only raised mine 25mm

Welcome to the family. The jobs you are trying is pretty simple just take it slow and careful and note everything you do. Measure up before you fit and you will be fine. Do drop us a picture of the steed.
    Regards
    Joe.

    Hi,
I have already added some 1.5 inch risers from JBQ(JackbeQuick.com) and they have helped with the ergo comfort. But...on long rides, I need to sit back and so need the buckhorn pullback bars. I am in the process of installing them as soon as they arrive from Fortnine.

Cheers, and thanks all for the welcome:)
