I had my 65th birthday last month, with a year to go before I get my state pension, anyway I went to work last Thursday and just got the sudden mad urge to retire early,so I just fecked off home at 10am and phoned my depot, and told them to send someone to collect my van cos I think you are nowt but a bunch of cnuts and I'm not coming back, It was the happiest day of my life.
We retired folk can go on long, long bike trips, take holidays when we want etc, etc. Enjoy your retirement Dave and well done.
I'm going to start looking tomorrow, the only problem is, if I go to to a rescue centre I'll want to take all of them home.
I had the same issue when I went to the cats rescue place. But I took the 2 friendliest cats and they are absolutely awesome and I love them to bits.
You lucky lucky I’ve already decided that I’m retiring age 60 Probably gonna struggle money wise But I’ve had an absolute belly full of it May 26th 2021 can’t come soon enough Happy for you David
That was my plan five years ago Graham, to retire at 60 , hope you have better luck than me mate, you are better off to keep working than to finish work and struggle to pay the bills.
Next Thursday I will be celebrating the fourth anniversary of my retirement. Apparently I will be spending the day mostly house/flat hunting. Let the good times roll!! Retirement means waking up in the morning and having no real idea what day it is. And as you don't have to get up and go to work does it really matter anyway?
I’ve just had enough of it mate I’ve got a forces pension that starts aged 60 It’s not brilliant but it should be enough to see me through until my state pension starts at 67 Here’s hoping
I know how you feel, unfortunately for me I've still got 12 years to go ...unless there is some sort of miracle with the business I'm involved in.
Patterdales are my favourites, lovable but utterly ferocious when threatened, I've had 3 of them so I would like another if I can find a rescue one.
I can see where you are coming from, I hated my job so much, I was starting to get depressed even when I was at home thinking about work, I had to end it for the sake of my health, it was doing my fecking head in giving me impossible workloads every day.
I went to an animal rescue place, wife wanted a ginger kitten they had, instead we came home with a big fat dirty old cat that had had boiling water poured over it, and had bitten one of the staff on the head that morning !!!! Enjoy the retirement David. And pick the meanest dog you see. It'll love you more than a nice one ever can.
So there will now be a boost in uploads to Babes n Bikes Congrats, when I went to 3 days a week when I hit 60 it was the best thing I had done in years. Other than buy new bikes!!!
Well done mate, I've only got another 25 years left at work. I'm hoping to win the lotto soon and retire early, heres to hoping
I'd like to get a dog from around this area Jez it doesn't have to be a patterdale just some small dog that can walk lot of miles every day I love walking in the countryside up here, when I was off work at weekends a 10 mile walk from 7am till 10am is just a stroll in the park.
