DGR.jpg Registration for the annual Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is now open. Sunday 29th September in a town near you.

Register for a ride, or donate to a group or to someone you know here https://www.gentlemansride.com

Triumph have their own worldwide riders group too https://www.gentlemansride.com/fundraiser/triumphdgr

I'm organising the inaugural Milton Keynes to Bedford Ride.

All in aid of prostate cancer and men's mental health charities via the Movember foundation.

It's somewhat poignant for me this year having had two friends recently affected. Our Sales Manager at Woburn was five years all clear from prostate cancer in December last, before being devastated by a fresh diagnose in February. Thankfully following treatment and more surgery he has another all clear. And tragically a good friend, ex-Royal Marines Commando and fellow founding member of our MK owners club branch, very recently took his own life after many years of struggling with those awful daemons that affect so many ex-armed services personnel. His partner is helping me organise the MK DGR Ride.

For your uncles, your brothers, your fathers and friends. Donate what you can, for their lives need not end.

I'm signed up for the Brooklands event, which I did last year too. That group raised almost 30k last year. Hope to see loads of supporters there and fingers crossed the weather gods are (like last year) kind to all those taking part in the DGR on the 29th Sep.

I'm signed up for the Doncaster ride.
It's my first event and I've decided to ride a vintage Triumph rather than a modern Bonnie, so I'm hoping I won't slow the rest of the riders down too much..

There were 15 of us in 2016, 115 in 2017, and Kev reckons 164 last year, but I counted 187. The ride from Wellingborough to to the official start is good too.

That's very impressive, from 15 to that number in two years. On arriving last year I was amazed by the number of bikes, and more kept turning up. It was a very well organised event too, a credit to those who were responsible.

Also, do many people turn out to watch the ride? Doesn't seem to advertised anywhere locally or in the papers.

This is a terrific worldwide event and for a terrific cause. I did it last year as part of the Tucson DGR group. We had 100 riders and I was the high fundraiser. I was highly motivated--the older of my two little brothers was diagnosed with prostate cancer about two months prior to the ride. He's doing great, BTW. Elected to have surgery which was very successful.

I still had my 2016 Triumph Thruxton R when I did the ride which was perfect! I'm not registered yet for this year's event but it's on my to do list. I've traded my Thruxton for a Speed Triple which is not quite as fitting for the event. But, hey, it's for a good cause! A couple of pics from 2018.

When 100 or so bikes cruise down a high street and the riders are dressed as twats you do get a lot of spectators. It's a great day out, I did the Guildford one last year and had a blast. as said hit the charity shops and look for tweed.

I have to agree - I've done five so far and there seems to have been no attempt at advertising or further attempts to raise funds at the start of the event. They really do seem to be missing a trick - I've been asked loads of times whether there was anyone collecting as people seem happy to donate!
